Olsen Posted September 4, 2011 Share #8249 Posted September 4, 2011 No, Lake Tahoe is more 'just pine Forrest'. This is Sequoya trees. Sacramento? - Or Eureka...?

aarflot Posted September 4, 2011 Share #8251 Posted September 4, 2011 Or Wawona Hotal, maybe?
vertekijker Posted September 4, 2011 Share #8252 Posted September 4, 2011 Or Wawona Hotal, maybe? Yes, this house is part of the Wawona Hotel - one of the oldest hotels in California and situated in Yosemite Park. Delightful place to stay in, although the creature comforts are those of a nineteenth century traveler - no tv, no minibar, no airco... - which makes it such a charming place, like taking a time machine. Remember that I asked for the name of the house if you wanted to score the 'extra points'. It is the oldest building of the hotel and the only one that never burned down. Most historical indeed, especially in a 'newer' state like California. ----------------- Frans
aarflot Posted September 4, 2011 Share #8253 Posted September 4, 2011 Hm, Washburn Cottage? Guess I shouldn't admit that I have never been to Yosemite....
vertekijker Posted September 4, 2011 Share #8254 Posted September 4, 2011 Hm, Washburn Cottage? Guess I shouldn't admit that I have never been to Yosemite.... The cottage I'm thinking of was built in 1876 or 1877. Not to worry that you were never there. -------------- Frans
wattsy Posted September 4, 2011 Share #8255 Posted September 4, 2011 I believe it is called Clark Cottage. Naturally, it is still aarflot's go next.
vertekijker Posted September 4, 2011 Share #8256 Posted September 4, 2011 I believe it is called Clark Cottage. Naturally, it is still aarflot's go next. Bit of a problem here, Wattsy... That is the right answer, but Aarflot had the right first answer and a great chance (!) to go for the extra points. Shall we ask him to take it from here? ------------- Frans
adli Posted September 4, 2011 Share #8257 Posted September 4, 2011 (edited) Sorry to interfere Frans, but your picture looks a lot to me like Washburn Cottage? That is the right answer, but Aarflot had the right first answer and a great chance (!) to go for the extra points. Shall we ask him to take it from here?------------- Frans Absolutely. I'd already suggested it should be Aarflot's go. I think Adli also makes a fair observation - looks like Aarflot had already won the "extra points".
