Guest Essemmlee Posted January 21, 2009 Share #1 Posted January 21, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) This photo was taken an hour ago outside our local pub. The pheasant 'guns' were inside the pub partaking of a refreshing beverage with some lunch. The dogs are just waiting in the Land Rover before going back out this afternoon. D-Lux 4. stuny Posted January 21, 2009 Share #2 Posted January 21, 2009 Steve - When I first learned to shoot we started with a list of safety rules, and every time we went back to the range we would review the rules before shooting. One of the rules was, "Alcohol and gunpowder do not mix." I wouldn't want to be in the bush with these gents when they went back out after lunch. But i digress. This image is like a B&W conversion from a late 19th century painting. The subjects, poses, composition, light, detail, tone and toning are all first rate. vdb Posted January 21, 2009 Share #4 Posted January 21, 2009 Wonderful portrait of wonderful dogs. Love the B&W toning. Are the Brittany's or Springer spaniels?
Martin T-M Posted January 21, 2009 Share #5 Posted January 21, 2009 The toning makes it all. Great pose though.

Guest Essemmlee Posted January 22, 2009 Share #7 Posted January 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Are they Brittany's or Springer spaniels? Thanks for your comments. These are Springers. The photo is toned to look like the old paintings that hung on your grandparents walls. Certainly, my grandparents walls.
