This is more leisure time than sports!

Penny is our 9-year old Golden Retriever (who's not gold and doesn't retrieve!). Millie is my daughter's 4-month old kitten. The two pets actually like each other, but Penny will try to submit to anything - including a kitten! Penny is what we might call 'affection enhanced' but cerebrally challenged'! Millie is in the process of working this out.

Ian,

Completely wonderful situation captured so controlled in all ways...!

BTW I had to laugh out loud when reading your intro. Having a really ridiculous but good hearted Lab myself, who doesn't retrieve anything either (she rather steals in stead - e.g. shoes) this image calls to something very "homely" (don't know if that word makes any sense at all in English ?)

All the best

Come to think of it, perhaps I could use one about now.

OK, here's a virtual one! HUG. :p I had one spare.

BTW: the downside of having a cat and a dog is that they understand each other better than you understand one of them (no joke, scientific fact!). In our case, Marie (cat) and Fleur (Labrador) had a pact that ended with me coming downstairs and finding the big iron pan on the floor which had contained (note "had") a very nice stew. Clean as a whistle. Never heard the bang, crash, wallop.

Two silly grins asking for a hug, burping softly behind their paws.:D

Beautiful moment Ian! I live with many animals and have learned to appreciate living in the moment---as that is all there is, right? This photo captures the essence of being throughly, 100% present, and in the moment.

One minor thought that could improve the image would be a sharper focus on the labs eye...maybe selective focus on the eye as that is the story of this image (in my mind anyway!).
