Guest Essemmlee Posted December 1, 2008 Share #8 Posted December 1, 2008 Is anyone still interested in taking pictures with this marvel of Panasonic technology? I definitely am. Those who haven't tried it really ought to. I have an M8 and a number of high quality lenses. The D-Lux 4 is not that far away in quality terms and it is so portable. The supremely easy to use macro facilty and the 2.5 times zoom are just a bonus.
Overgaard Posted December 2, 2008 Share #9 Posted December 2, 2008 But not a good idea to tell that it's there two-three months in advance... (at least not if you want customers to buy your products now).
carylwithay Posted December 9, 2008 Share #10 Posted December 9, 2008 I ordered one and was told it would be here in Dec. I am hoping in time for Xmas. Caryl
John Thawley Posted December 9, 2008 Share #11 Posted December 9, 2008 Is anyone still interested in taking pictures with this marvel of Panasonic technology or is it all just about the red dot, titan body and which leather case looks best? I'm all about the dot, titan body and leather case. LOL If I want to take pictures I'll use my Digilux 2. The Titan is strictly for soothing my all consuming egotistical need to have my home completely adorned from door-to-door, ceiling-to-floor with posh designer labels. Global economy be damned. How dare they squelch our need to consume? JT
spylaw4 Posted December 9, 2008 Share #12 Posted December 9, 2008 I ordered one and was told it would be here in Dec. I am hoping in time for Xmas.Caryl Maybe it will be! I held one in my hands this afternoon. It really is a great looking camera with a very nice soft-ish pale grey leather case. For those so inclined - all 50 UK ones have now been allocated - so get in touch with your dealer asap if you want one.
sdai Posted December 9, 2008 Share #13 Posted December 9, 2008 If titanium paint can save a company then let's all do it. I have a serious question before I spend my money though ... does the D-lux4 (aka. LX3) take a release cord such as the DMW-RSL1 from Panasonic? earleygallery Posted December 9, 2008 Share #15 Posted December 9, 2008 There is a major problem with this camera. Where on earth will one find the right shade of masking tape for that Leica dot?

I have a serious question before I spend my money though ... does the D-lux4 (aka. LX3) take a release cord such as the DMW-RSL1 from Panasonic? Hey Simon. I have the Leica version of that cable release for my Digilux 3, so I can try it in the D-Lux 4 later tonight and let you know. I'm pretty sure this "feature" isn't mentioned in the manual, and not sure what hole I'll plug it in to (insert tasteless joke here ), but I'll give it a try! Jeff. spylaw4 Posted December 9, 2008 Share #18 Posted December 9, 2008 Michiel - I only saw what I presume is the standard case that comes with the camera. No room for anything else. James - no need for tape - no red dot - apparently there was much discussion re this.
SJP Posted December 9, 2008 Share #19 Posted December 9, 2008 If you pay 300$ extra you can get a faster but noisier shutter, delayed recocking and a red dot. Cheap
carylwithay Posted December 9, 2008 Share #20 Posted December 9, 2008 Are there really those differences between the black D lux 4 and the titanium? I thought the workings were the same and only the color was different. Caryl
