earleygallery Posted October 10, 2009 Share #141 Posted October 10, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Or your plus fours Bill! I shall pack for mostly warm/sunny weather, a pair of jeans for the evenings and a coat which I'll need anyway for my walk to the station at 4am to get my train to the airport! I'm assuming that the restaurant isn't a formal tie and jacket affair!

masjah Posted October 11, 2009 Share #146 Posted October 11, 2009 Azzo We are staying in a flat in Valetta. Is there a good bus service round the bay to Sliema (or even a ferry across?
azzo Posted October 11, 2009 Share #147 Posted October 11, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello John, Yes, buses #60, 61 and 62 should all go round the Sliema bay though, it's not a bad idea to ask the driver first, just to make sure. There's also a ferry crossing from Valletta to Sliema from a place called Marsamxett. It should still be ferrying to & fro at this time of year. Again, always better to ask first. I'll see what I can do and get back to you on this. EDIT - In the meantime, I googled 'Marsamxett ferry '. Still running and it's cheap. Last trip at 6pm though, it says! kuddel Posted October 11, 2009 Share #148 Posted October 11, 2009 Dear Challengers , unfortunately it turned out that it is impossible for me to take part this year (indeed it is clear since several weeks). I liked it a lot in Berlin two year ago and after missing it last year I would loved it to be in Malta. Good luck and good light for all participant, I am looking for the decision for next years place and, of course, your pictures. Best regards, Andreas

bill Posted October 13, 2009 Share #155 Posted October 13, 2009 I've just booked my airport transfers with http://www.maltatransfer.com - 14 Euros round trip, which I thought was pretty good. I'm arriving on the BD 2131 on Friday afternoon and departing on the BD2130 on Monday at sparrow-fart. Staying at the Windsor in Sliema. andybarton Posted October 13, 2009 Share #156 Posted October 13, 2009 Thanks for the link, Bill. That's very handy. Will certainly book our return to the airport with them. We are thinking about getting a bus from the airport to Valletta, and then another to Sliema, but that may be a bus journey too far...
octo Posted October 13, 2009 Share #157 Posted October 13, 2009 Bill, Thanks for the heads up. I have registered too.
