robsteve Posted October 8, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 8, 2006 Nice shot, but for those of us in North America and not familiar with it, What is it? The 28mm is a wonderful lens on the DMR.
andybarton Posted October 8, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted October 8, 2006 Thanks Rob It's called "tartiflette", and consists of swiss cheese, potatoes, more cheese, fatty bacon, and cheese. It's delicious when made properly, although I hasten to add, I wasn't in the mood for this...

ejd Posted October 12, 2006 Share #7 Posted October 12, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Tartiflette may taste and smell good, but it does not look very appetising! Perhaps you had to be there to appreciate it fully.
andybarton Posted October 12, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted October 12, 2006 I have eaten tartiflette when on holiday in the Alps. Then, it was prepared in a pan somewhat smaller than a coracle, and looks similar to a well prepared omelette. When not cooked in industrial quantities, it is presented to your table in the pan. The one we had was delicious, but I have to admit that this one looks a bit grim
fotografr Posted October 12, 2006 Share #9 Posted October 12, 2006 "It's called "tartiflette", and consists of swiss cheese, potatoes, more cheese, fatty bacon, and cheese." In other words--fat mixed with fat, a touch of carb and cooked in fat. Highly appropriate caption. This concoction will surely help your population catch up to the USA in the battle of the bulge.
