Oh My God!

No need to get het up Ug :) - it's a friendly and informal competition anyway and probably no-one minds that much. What I'm saying is that it's mistake to change the rules (even if they've been misinterpreted previously) part way through the voting, as it usually causes problems.

I'm happy to abide by Bill's ruling but would urge the mods to be aware that it is unwise to apply rules retrospectively.

Had me Grump now, so as promised, will shut up. ;)

FWIW, I think that your compromise is sound under the circumstances. If Bill disagrees, I will just have to remind him that to go on leave at such a crucial time of the year is bound to lead to some local difficulties. :)

So, any single or twin vote responses, after the four that have done so already will be ignored.

Let's just hope that there is a clear and outright winner this year, so that the inclusion or otherwise of the votes in question does not affect the result.

If we have trouble with the tides here in Burnham after he's back off the mountain, we'll know what's happened..:)

Fair compromise. I must admit I'm irritated a little by single voters, my guess (and its only a guess) is that they may be friends of one of the photographers voting for just their photo only, which is completely against the spirit of the competition, as they would not be voting on merit of the images.

I would agree, this seems like a good solution. Someone made the very good description the whole enterprise is just an excuse for a weekend trip to a nice place.

I would add the competition is just right to my taste to be challenging enough to make it interesting but not that competitive to care too much who wins. In my perception one has the ambition to hand in a decent picture worth to be shown rather.

Sorry if I hurt somebody now, which is definitely not my intention, but from my personal point of view none of the above pictures would have stayed longer than the few moments of preselection on my harddisc except the metabo thing (which I think is really cool) and maybe the bell.

Kind regards, Dirk

Ok, third place: 11. Somehow skipped that. The shark kiss in the backgound is rather funny.

Hope you have all been playing nice while I have been away :D

Here are the votes from the Frimley jury...

1st, 3 points, #8

2nd, 2 points, #6

3rd, 1 point, #4

Some tough choices there. Well done to all those who took part - I promise not to miss Malta!

Regards,

Bill
