Advertisement Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Hi Rona!d, Take a look here Good morning, Range Rover (Sport)!. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

elansprint72 Posted November 7, 2008 Share #3 Posted November 7, 2008 Nice photo of a gas-guzzling dinosaur! Is the mist created by the exhaust? New Land Rover sales are down 60% in the UK and the factory has stockpiled all the product it can and is now "resting". On the second hand market you cannot give one of these tanks away. Rona!d Posted November 7, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted November 7, 2008 Naja, letzte Woche, nicht heute;) Heute, 04:05 :-) Wahnsinnsfarben! Grüße, Johannes Pete, the Diesel version is fine for the common owner. Had some fast laps on the racing circuit with the "big" one (non diesel), impressive for a dinosaur-weight, but the REAL RR i drove and shot this pic from, can´t be beaten by a Prius or Lotus off road, so what? A real RR owner don´t care about second hand prices. The "new stock" sales are the worse thing, but most car producers suffer at the moment. Nice photo of a gas-guzzling dinosaur! andybarton Posted November 9, 2008 Share #9 Posted November 9, 2008 On the second hand market you cannot give one of these tanks away. You certainly can't trade them in. No one will take them. IMHO, Land Rover will have to return to building basic, "Defender" type vehicles in the future. Vehicles for a specialist market, for people who really need the off-road capabilities, such as farmers and the military. Range Rovers, with all the bells and whistles and daft 20" wheels with ultra low profile tyres etc will all be a complete anachronism. I bet that Ford are wetting themselves with joy at having offloaded these to the Indians. Getting back to the matter in hand, though, this is a lovely photograph
Rona!d Posted November 9, 2008 Author Share #10 Posted November 9, 2008 Andy, there´s nearly nothing a "real" Range Rover with good wheels can´t do, what a Defender can. But it does it more comfortable. I tried the whole range off road last week and the "real" Range Rover surprised me. Don´t judge Range Rover from Range Rover Sport, this is a different car (not only closer to the road and larger street-wheels - the RRS ist NOT based on the RR chassis). Land Rover does well according to model-range. It´s the small market and crisis they have to face. An "only" Defender-option wouldn´t help anyway. Rona!d Posted November 9, 2008 Author Share #11 Posted November 9, 2008 For Jags "maybe", not "LR" (they made money till the big crisis started). I bet that Ford are wetting themselves with joy at having offloaded these to the Indians.
Ted99 Posted November 9, 2008 Share #12 Posted November 9, 2008 LR is not only the idiotic new cars , take a look at driving in "real" situations. Ernhill.com Some of the next LR cars will have 0,46 l/10 km , a good start. Land Rover UK - Our Planet - Our Planet
andybarton Posted November 9, 2008 Share #13 Posted November 9, 2008 I know, Ron. The RR and the RRS are two completely different cars, neither of which are likely to be made in 10 years time. If no one wants to buy them, they'll stop making them. Especially if they continue to suffer lemming-like depreciation, which they are doing at the moment. There will always be people who can afford the 22.4 litres per 100km fuel consumption (that's 12.6 mpg, to me, 10 mpg to those who buy short gallons), but eventually tax and fuel cost will drive these cars off the road (pun intended )

Guest flatfour Posted November 13, 2008 Share #16 Posted November 13, 2008 Very nice toning - just a little too much orange but it has retained its mistiness. These cars are very comfortable but my, are they thirsty ! We used to sell them when they first came out. Apallingly badly built but with a great US engine. Oil prices will fall dramatically in due course as people try to move away from carbon fuels - not necessary but they will. There is so much oil in the world but new forms of propulsion are just around the corner. It might be a historical picture.
