luigi bertolotti Posted October 30, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 30, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks to JC... here are a pair of pics with my just-arrived Visoflex III, with the short lived Tele Elmarit 180 for Visoflex: to act quickly, I used my daughter's Lumix... I don't like flash, but it's all so automatic in these P&S ...

WestLicht have a prototype made by Schneider on his next auction (see Lot 239) Thanks for the reminder on Westlicht, Philippe ! I was forgotting that is worth to surf their site... you see often interesting items at their auctions... so... Jim Lager was right !: years ago, I wrote him asking for some infos on my "Olympia Elmarit" (I like to call it this way... hommage to the famous Zeiss of same focus & aperture) , and he kindly answered me ... closing his mail with a rather mysterious statement ("...this lens could indeed came out from Schneider... I am investigating in this direction...") Looking at the auction "estimates" ... I feel tempted to put for sale my Elmarit 28 Wetzlar...
Rona!d Posted October 30, 2008 Share #4 Posted October 30, 2008 Luigi, nice lens. I always wanted one with my Viso III and a black M5 / that makes the perfect pair, heavy stuff. Now put some PHOTOS MADE WITH IT on our site! Thanks, Ronald
UliWer Posted October 30, 2008 Share #5 Posted October 30, 2008 For sure you must show photos taken with this lens. It would be interesting to compare it to the 1:4/200-Telyt. It seems the Elmarit was abandonned from production because they didn't see a market for it besides the Telyt.
luigi bertolotti Posted October 31, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted October 31, 2008 For sure you must show photos taken with this lens. It would be interesting to compare it to the 1:4/200-Telyt. It seems the Elmarit was abandonned from production because they didn't see a market for it besides the Telyt. Now that I have a Viso III... you bet I'll post some pics taken with the 180 on M8... pity that this weekend, in Italy, seems will be a rainy one... ... if too bad weather, I can always make some comparision 180 to 200s indoor (btw, with film, I preferred the Telyt 200 f4 for portability... the 180 is very heavy and not so well balanced). luigi bertolotti Posted November 16, 2008 Author Share #9 Posted November 16, 2008 Staying at home... but here are cyclamins taken with the above 180 at f4 and Viso III... a tentativee at freehand... not so easy to focus and stay stable...
Theodor Heinrichsohn Posted November 16, 2008 Share #10 Posted November 16, 2008 Congratulations on your Visoflex III and the 180 f2. I have not made any comparisons with the 200 f4 recently, but from my memory (using slide films) the f4 is a bit more contrasty at full opening. At full opening the 180 is not super sharp but shows fine color gradations and is good for portraits. Teddy
luigi bertolotti Posted November 16, 2008 Author Share #11 Posted November 16, 2008 I made some comparisions today... (too boring to post pics... ) between the 180 2,8 and my two 200s (4 and older 4,5) ... at f4 (4,5 for the old 200) 180 wins both in definition and contrast... surprisingly, at f8 180 and the OLD 200 are about equal, while the "new" 200 f4 is worst... but I think it's my item... the old 200 (postwar, coated) is perfect, while the "new" is so-so.
