spylaw4 Posted October 28, 2008 Author Share #2 Posted October 28, 2008 Further to the above I went through the earlier thread and Red Dot is going to be full to bursting point if everyone turns up! This does not mean that more attendees are not welcome!! So far we have yes's from: George J John D Steve K Louis Pete F Ivor/Elaine Armin Tim B Bob Michael B James Robert Douglasco Possibles - who are of course very welcome to join us - are: Hsin Leitzmac Steve U Andy B Which makes 14 definite and another 4 possible. I would appreciate it if you could keep me up to date with numbers. A more detailed route will be added nearer the time so that late arrivals can catch up - and Hsin can find us! Looking forward to meeting you all.

biglouis Posted October 29, 2008 Share #6 Posted October 29, 2008 BTW, in case it has not been mentioned, there is a cost to entering the Capa exhibition - £8 on the day or £6 in advance. Don't know if there such a thing as group bookings. LouisB
spylaw4 Posted October 29, 2008 Author Share #7 Posted October 29, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) BTW, in case it has not been mentioned, there is a cost to entering the Capa exhibition - £8 on the day or £6 in advance. Don't know if there such a thing as group bookings. LouisB See my last paragraph in the first posting! I've just been in contact with the box office - an extended and frustrating experience, but I eventually got the information at the 3rd attempt. A group booking is possible for 10 or more but it will be £6 per ticket. Now I am quite willing to organise this on behalf of those wishing to go, but please wait for further instructions re paying. Come to think of it if it is the same price as ordinary advance, I"m quite willing to organise it anyway and see if my Barbican Membership gives any extra discount! earleygallery Posted October 29, 2008 Share #8 Posted October 29, 2008 I read a review of the exhibition, sounds very good, I'm really looking forward to it. Its actually 3 exhibitions in one so we should allow enough time to see it all (although it is open until 8pm). Looks like we all get a free gift too - from the Barbican website;Jessops: Free prints! To claim your 20 free prints, simply take your exhibition ticket along to any of the participating stores (if you dare go to Jessops that is!). Nice of you to treat us all to lunch Brian

Leitzmac Posted November 2, 2008 Share #13 Posted November 2, 2008 Hello Brian, I can confirm that I currently have nothing booked for the 29th and would very much like to attend, however work often comes in with short notice so I'll have to see closer to the time. I know this may be a little inconvenient regarding booking tickets for Capa, so it may be better to count me out of any group ticket purchase for the moment. I have been very much looking forward to the exhibition but have put off seeing it solo in favour of viewing it with you chaps which should be much more interesting. All the best and thanks again for arranging this!
spylaw4 Posted November 2, 2008 Author Share #14 Posted November 2, 2008 Regarding tickets for Capa Exhibition. After a bit of local consultation and noting that there is no saving for a group over individual advance tickets, and bearing in mind the hassle of payments etc etc , I have decidied that the easiest thing to do is to give everybody the link to enable advance booking. If that link proves problematic then start from here. In advance you will pay £6 a saving of £2 over booking on the day. Up to you! Go for it! Looking forward to seeing you all. Nick De Marco Posted November 2, 2008 Share #15 Posted November 2, 2008 Sorry, only just saw this as Louis brought it to my attention. I hope to be along on the day, and I think Ripon will come too (even though he only uses one of my Leicas when he comes on these days!) We both want to see the exhibition especially.
