I have just started the process of booking a room at the Landhotel Velte in Neu-Anspach

 

Several of us stayed there last year, and apart from having a bar that closed early (probably not a bad thing, come to think of it :) ) it was very comfortable and very reasonable.

 

There's no reason to suppose that the former will not be the same this year, but for those of us dealing with a basket-case currency, the latter may be more of a challenge this time round. :rolleyes:

 

 

Booked in yesterday. Single occupancy rooms are €53, including breakfast, which does seem very reasonable to me.

Good News: I am busy with an exam on Saturday 13th morning

 

Bad News: it is in Frankfurt and so I will be at the meeting from Thursday onwards and for dinner on Saturday evening.

 

I am looking forward to renewing friendships.

 

Will we meet again on Thu evening for a pizza?

nice, to see You again! We will have a first meeting on Thu evening, but we don't know by now, if we meet again in the Pizzeria or another nice place.

Wait for the program, we will publish it in a few days.

I have booked in Hotel Pension Zur Eiche (note the new number +49 6081 585 692)- the bar stays open till later than Hotel Velte :D.

 

And it was only €46 per night.

OK, I'm booked at the Landhotel Zum Hessenpark. Not sure if that is a convenient one for the event but at least they had a room.

 

I asked for the Leica Forum rate and they gave me 82 EUR. However, their website states that single rooms are between 82 EUR -153 EUR, so I am not sure if they have just given me the most basic room that is 82 EUR normally or if I did get a discounted rate on a better single room.

 

Looking forward to meeting some of you in person.

The schedule for Sunday has a meeting at 10:00 to discuss pictures and conclude. Any feel for when we would be finished? I'm booking a return flight from Frankfurt and there are flights leaving at 12:50 or at 16:50. Could I make the earlier flight?

I'm confirmed at the Landshotel Hessenpark, and I see there is a train from FRA to Bad Homburg every half hour. Is Bad Homburg an easy cab ride to Hessenpark, or is there better transport?

Hallo fellow meeting folks. I am registered and am booked into the Landhotel Velte on the Friday night. I hope to get to the meeting on Friday morning, leaving from Frankfurt and return to Frankfurt on Saturday evening after the dinner. My wife and I are staying it the Intercontinental in Frankfurt which is near the main rail station I believe. My original transport arrangements to the meeting won't work out now.

 

I can train to and from Bad Homburg and Frankfurt I think.

I would be very pleased if I can arrange any rides either from or to Frankfurt or Bad Homburg as well as for the Solms/Wetzlar excursions.

That's for myself only.

I understand that the overseas visitors may be able to attend a factory tour on the Monday. My wife and I hope to get to that from Frankfurt as well.

Any offers of assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I know enough German to buy beers for fellow Leica folks and of course am happy to share all expenses if anyone can help me out. Have M8 and good glass to share!

I am chatting off list with Brian and Carl but am unsure of any definite arrangements as yet.

We are flying to Berlin (first) arriving 1st June. Any arrangements that I can work out before leaving Australia would be very helpful of course.

Hi Doug, hi Geoff,

 

from Frankfurt Main Station you can take:

- every half hour: The "S5" to "Bad Homburg" and from there the "Frankfurt-Königsteiner" railway to Neu-Anspach.

- several times every day: direct from Frankfurt to Neu-Anspach with the "Frankfurt-Königsteiner".

 

On Thursday, you can also take a taxi from station Bad Homburg to the "Landgasthof Saalburg".

 

From the little station in Neu-Anspach we can pick you up and take you to the "Landgastof Saalburg" on Thursday and to Solms on Friday.

 

Some members of our meeting rent a car from Frankfurt Airport. Perhaps they can pick you up on their way to Neu-Anspach....? Some of our members live in Bad Homburg, perhaps they organize a shuttle? I will ask them!
