JHAG Posted October 15, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just anecdotical but pretty annoying nevertheless. Not the for the first, LFI International dispatched by Bruil in Holland arrives badly damaged. Their plastic slip is totally unprotective.
Advertisement Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Hi JHAG, Take a look here LFI damage. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Rona!d Posted October 15, 2008 Share #2 Posted October 15, 2008 Maybe a problem on the dutch side? Mine arrives in perfect condition in germany since years. Tell your postman and dog not to read it before you and to carry it with more care;) Annoying, indeed! Tell LFI, they can do more than the forum can. Just anecdotical but pretty annoying nevertheless. Not the for the first, LFI International dispatched by Bruil in Holland arrives badly damaged. Their plastic slip is totally unprotective. stunsworth Posted October 15, 2008 Share #3 Posted October 15, 2008 Well just to be on the safe side they've been sending me two copies, and now they've started sending me reminders that I've only paid for one of them and I need to send them some money for the second. I've tried emailing them in the past but the two copies keep on coming. Does anyone have an email address that will get through to someone at LFI? Flimsy packaging is the norm in the magazine world IMHO. If there's a problem it's probably down to the post office somewhere in the chain. I've had no problem with damage. andybarton Posted October 15, 2008 Share #4 Posted October 15, 2008 I'm pretty sure mine came in cardboard this month. Will pay more attention next time.
bill Posted October 15, 2008 Share #5 Posted October 15, 2008 Mine always arrives in perfect condition. But I can see a market opening. Perhaps Luigi can be persuaded to introduce a leather magazine cover... Regards, Bill
asmith Posted October 15, 2008 Share #6 Posted October 15, 2008 Steve Try telephoning Albrecht Konig at the number given at the back of LFI. He speaks excellent English and I have found him very helpful. Alwyn

JHAG Posted October 15, 2008 Author Share #12 Posted October 15, 2008 Hi sthan,I live in Holland as well and my LFI always arrives in perfect condition! Couldn't it be something with your delivery service? Groet, 1991os No delivery service here : Bruil sends it in a thin plastic pape cigarette like slip which protects nothing. Instead, I receive LensWork from the US, in a thick cardboard envelope, and it's always in perfect condition. Bruil needs to phone to LensWork : they'll tip them with their supplier. honcho Posted October 15, 2008 Share #15 Posted October 15, 2008 My last edition arrived in a plastic envelope. The envelope was open, not for the first time, but the magazine was undamaged. Very annoying.
JHAG Posted October 15, 2008 Author Share #16 Posted October 15, 2008 My last edition arrived in a plastic envelope. The envelope was open, not for the first time, but the magazine was undamaged. Very annoying. I second that. I keep these magazine for further reference and don't like them to be half DOA. Plus it's an asset too. In these thrifty times to come, one should know that some copies of LensWork became really valuable on the collector's market (check for yourselves on ePay). flavio Posted October 16, 2008 Share #17 Posted October 16, 2008 some months ago i emailed lfi for a thicker envelope because the magazine was often damaged. they agreed but things have changed last august when lfi did arrive in the thin plastic again. an email asking to go back to harder envelope got no replay so far. the last lfi arrived few days ago inside a thin plastic envelope inside a thin paper envelope. vertekijker Posted October 16, 2008 Share #19 Posted October 16, 2008 In the past I have had to e-mail them to tell them that I did not receive my copy yet. Seems like you guys all got your copy for this month, right? I guess I'll wait till tomorrow and then I'll write them again... They told me that they work with a mailing service and the problem may well be with them. In the past I have ordered back-issues and had the same problem. They kept insisting that I received what I had ordered, and another time that my address did not exist, or was the wrong one... All I had to do was point out that if that was the case, how did I get some issues from them in the months previously? Definetely not the best mailing service there, but when I contact them they are always very friendly. ------------ Frans
peter_n Posted October 16, 2008 Share #20 Posted October 16, 2008 Both LFI and B&W Photography arrive in totally inadequate packaging, as do books from Amazon UK. Demand a replacement and you will get one, albeit in identical packaging. B&W Photography are apparently unable to understand the USPS preferred format for an address so my copies get lost on a regular basis.
