JHAG Posted October 3, 2006 Share #163 Posted October 3, 2006 It seems Mac and Windows users are not on the same boat here… I simply don't have this toolbar in the grey field "Reply to Thread". Just plain nice grey colour…
andybarton Posted October 3, 2006 Share #164 Posted October 3, 2006 This works for me both on this PC and my Macs at home. You need to change some settings in your User Control Panel (click on User CP in the bar above) In the "Edit Options" section, go to the bottom and choose "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing". This will switch on the buttons, plus lots of other choices. HTH

pascal_meheut Posted October 3, 2006 Share #166 Posted October 3, 2006 Thanks for the explanations and let's try them. Here is the menu which translate roughly to: First course: either vegetables terrine OR salmon marinated with dill Main course: salmon fill with vegetables (not a joke) OR duck thigh and potatoes with beacon Dessert: opera cake (i.e. chocolate and coffe) or Ile Flottante (english cream and eggs in snow, usually excellent too) If someone can provide a better translation, he'll be welcome as my English is not excellent in this field. Anyway, the restaurant would like to know how many of us will choose each course. If not, they will prepare each of them for 50% of us. Welcome, dear visitor! pascal_meheut Posted October 3, 2006 Share #169 Posted October 3, 2006 And here are the maps to go chez Edouard. Address is: 7 pl Edouard VII 75009 PARIS, phone is 01 53 43 01 88 and it is quite easy: go out at Opera station, "Opera Garnier" exit I think, follow the Boulevard des Capucines (to your left when watching the front of the Opera) and turn right in rue Edouard VII, which is a pedestrian one. earleygallery Posted October 3, 2006 Share #170 Posted October 3, 2006 Hi, can we have a similar map to show how to get to the meeting point from the nearest metro? Cheers
pascal_meheut Posted October 3, 2006 Share #171 Posted October 3, 2006 Hi, can we have a similar map to show how to get to the meeting point from the nearest metro? Sure but they are many metro around. The closest one is Etienne Marcel but you can also use Les Halles, Reaumur Sebastopol, Rambuteau and Arts Et Métiers BTW, may I remind everybody that choosing your menu would help the restaurant? stunsworth Posted October 3, 2006 Author Share #172 Posted October 3, 2006 I'm at work so I can't edit any screen shots, but you can see a plan of the Frog & Rosbif here... Mappy - Plans de ville= The address is 116 rue St Denis, Paris 75002. If you press the down arrow on the map you'll eventually see that you come to Chatelet. The easiest way to find the place from Chatalet is to walk with your back to the fountains up to rue de Rivoli. rue St Denis is just across the road. Follow this up and you can't miss the place as it's a large 'pub' about 400 metres up. If Pascal could post an actual image that would probably be better. andybarton Posted October 3, 2006 Share #173 Posted October 3, 2006 OK, here's a map of where the meeting place is, and a route from said meeting place to eating place. This is assuming that everyone will be walking straight from the first place to the second place. Hope this helps. And here's a link to a google map of the centre of Paris, for those who want to have an armchair explore. Sort of the centre of Paris One of the Metro, so that you can work out how to get anywhere Paris Metro Map And finally, a link to a panorama I made a couple of years ago, last time I was over there. andybarton Posted October 3, 2006 Share #174 Posted October 3, 2006 BTW, may I remind everybody that choosing your menu would help the restaurant? Pascal, Does the restaurant want us to choose our food now, rather than when we get there? (I am bound to forget what I ordered... ) Thanks.
stunsworth Posted October 3, 2006 Author Share #175 Posted October 3, 2006 With a choice of salmon or duck it's easy for me to choose and remember. DUCK!!!
pascal_meheut Posted October 3, 2006 Share #176 Posted October 3, 2006 Does the restaurant want us to choose our food now, rather than when we get there? (I am bound to forget what I ordered... ) Thanks. What they would like is an idea of how much of each course they need to prepare. For instance, 8 ducks and 8 salmon or 10 duck and 6 salmon and so on. If not, we will end up eating hamburgers at Mc Donald's. No, I'm joking but they will prepare 50% of each and only the first to order will be able to choose. One last thing: they'll close at 11 PM this day but of course, we may find another place to hang after that if you are not exhausted.

bill Posted October 3, 2006 Share #180 Posted October 3, 2006 Another vote here for salmon/duck/gateux. And thanks for the maps; speaking as someone who has the sense of direction of a myopic lemming this is very useful! Regards, Bill
