os1991 Posted January 11, 2009 Share #61 Posted January 11, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) After shooting with Leica R cameras for 7 years, I decided to take the leap. I recently acquired this beautiful M7 with a 50mm Summicron. It's my first M and I absolutely love it! I ordered a Luigi half-case, which arrived last week. Today I took some pictures of people iceskating here in Holland and it was great! What a great camera! Picture was taken with my father's M8 and 35mm Summicron (in very low light, so not pinsharp) Cheers, Osman Welcome, dear visitor! tomasis7 Posted May 28, 2009 Share #68 Posted May 28, 2009 Time for a little bump ... Taken with my DoCoMo N905i Ah M7 starts to tempt me. I guess I need Ae for some situations as night, evening times. With M3 and ext. meter it can be sometimes miss or hit in such situations.(I guess Im inexperienced) When meter showed 1/8, I didnt want to do it and I had compromise with iso instead. I guess M7 would be great as only-iso-3200 camera as Rd-1 did for me, but a bit expensive to use only that iso compared to my M3, lol. How do you feel with M4-p since it works like M3 regarding metering? I guess maybe I sell digital Rd-1 for M7 0,85x instead. When I think more about rd1 and M7, both are more similiar cameras than I thought. Exception is medium. I start grow on films anyway Summaron looks nice , btw
Guest maddoc2003jp Posted May 28, 2009 Share #69 Posted May 28, 2009 Hey tomasis !! I am using a 2 camera set-up now, M4-P for mostly BW and "guess-metering" at night (most oftenTri-X at 400ISO or Neopan 1600PR) and the M7 for color-slide film. AE is more helpful than I was thinking but at night or dim places with some bright lights, it can easily be fooled. Otherwise, the M7 is just a perfect camera. Cheers, Gabor

Guest maddoc2003jp Posted June 3, 2009 Share #73 Posted June 3, 2009 Eric, blackpaint M4 !? Great ! István, nice !! :-) M7 became my main camera recently, getting lazy and AE is helpful. Mark, now that is a very "special" M3 ! Now you have the counter-part to Joe's (RFF) cobalt-blue ZI !

tomasis7 Posted June 4, 2009 Share #76 Posted June 4, 2009 Robert. Rangefinder restorations. This is a new paint he was trying out. Really nice finnish. He has done a M3 and M7 for me in the past as well. it looks better than earlier his works. I remember when I saw some first samples of him. It did look quite uneven finish on some places but this M4 looks quite clean. Matte black huh? I like it better than glossy. I will test Robert's restoration some day
ErikFive Posted June 4, 2009 Share #77 Posted June 4, 2009 it looks better than earlier his works. I remember when I saw some first samples of him. It did look quite uneven finish on some places but this M4 looks quite clean. Matte black huh? I like it better than glossy. I will test Robert's restoration some day All the ones I have gotten from him was really nice. My M3 was actually one of the first he did. No unevenness at all. The last M4 is probably the nicest finnish yet though. Its a new paint he just got. I think he said that its much easier to work with.
