michaelc Posted October 1, 2006 Share #1 Posted October 1, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've just acquired an SCA 3502 M5 (there is an adhesive label saying M5 [and M5 on the User manual]) adaptor to go with a Metz 44MZ-2 flash for my R8. When I attach the 3502 adaptor to the gun, it doesn't want to click home - in fact when I pull it, it will just slide off again... Am I doing something wrong? I don't want to force it. The basic shoe adaptor that came with the gun does click on and stays on, and will only come off when I depress the locking tab. With the gun and adaptor mounted on the body, and fired up, there is no Flash Ready symbol in the v/f on any of the "A", "P", "M", etc. settings either.... Any help, ideas, much appreciated. Thanks, Michael.
Advertisement Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 Hi michaelc, Take a look here SCA 3502 adaptor/Metz 44MZ-2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
topoxforddoc Posted October 1, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 1, 2006 When you release the standard hotshoe adaptor, you will also find a thin plastic strip at the front of the socket on the flash unit. Slide that out too and you will be able to attach the SCA 3502. The same problem perplexed me intially with a 54MZ4i. It arises as the standard hotshoe is not as deep as the SCA module. TimF Posted October 2, 2006 Share #3 Posted October 2, 2006 Aaaaaaahhh! Now why isn't that mentioned in the manual for the gun. I couldn't find it anyway when Michael asked me this question on another forum yesterday.

Grafxbird Posted December 30, 2006 Share #10 Posted December 30, 2006 When you release the standard hotshoe adaptor, you will also find a thin plastic strip at the front of the socket on the flash unit. Slide that out too and you will be able to attach the SCA 3502. As it turns out, I can make use of one of these thin plastic strips so that I can go "retro" on my 40 MZ-2. Anyone willing to sell yours? Neil
dhsimmonds Posted January 1, 2007 Share #11 Posted January 1, 2007 I would also like to use my Metz 54 MZ-4i and SCA3502 off camera by using a camera bar attached to my R9. Does anyone know which extension cord can be used with this combination?
