Overgaard Posted September 10, 2008 Share #2 Posted September 10, 2008 Digilux 2.2 10-16 MP RAW/JPG side by side (and same nice JPG's as Digilux 2) SDHC card compatible Fast AF Fast buffer Improved ISO (though I could live with 100ISO in needed) Perhaps improved viewfinder (but I'm used to the one and like the preview in the viewfinder) I could do 90% of what I do with that camera. Make a tele adapter or a Digilux 2.2 TELE edition with a 135-300mm zoom f/2.8 and I would scrap everything else!
krabat Posted September 11, 2008 Share #3 Posted September 11, 2008 Interesting! 10-16 MP Well, 8-10 would be enough RAW/JPG side by side (and same nice JPG's as Digilux 2) Yes, preserve the JPG quality we already have in the Digilux 2! SDHC card compatible Alright, not urgent for me, but nice to have. Fast AF Hm... why not.... although I use manual focus in most cases... Fast buffer Yes! Really necessary if RAWs have to be stored. Improved ISO (though I could live with 100ISO in needed) Yes, I also use almost exclusively ISO 100, but less noise is always good, and a useable range up to ISO 800 would be nice. However, higher ISO should NOT be for the price of reduced detail resolution. Perhaps improved viewfinder (but I'm used to the one and like the preview in the viewfinder) Yes, nice to have. I could do 90% of what I do with that camera. Make a tele adapter or a Digilux 2.2 TELE edition with a 135-300mm zoom f/2.8 and I would scrap everything else! Tele adapter sounds good. The present range of 28-90 mm covers most needs, nevertheless, a wide-angle adapter and a tele adapter would be nice. AND a macro lens, as the Elpro! What would you think about a sensor-based image stabilisation?
sdai Posted September 11, 2008 Share #4 Posted September 11, 2008 A 21-25 mp FF sensor in a R9-like camera. AF is ok but not necessary, must have native support to existing R lenses. Thank you, Dr. Kaufmann!

thrid Posted September 11, 2008 Share #9 Posted September 11, 2008 Leica R the size of an SL or a thinner D700 (R8/9?). Full frame 16-21MP 12 stops of DR Great viewfinder Weather sealing Leica M Full Frame 16-21MP 12 stops of DR Reasonably accurate framelines (like M4) Weather sealing black paint with vulcanite... ;-)
bobtodrick Posted September 11, 2008 Share #10 Posted September 11, 2008 A photoshop plug in that would give me Tri-X grain. Specifically Tri-X processed at 320ISO and pushed processed 50%. (I've always said that you can use my negs to safely look at a solar eclipse). Oh...and an extension of that plug in that would completely emulate Agfa Portriga on Hahnemhule Fine Art Pear. Yeah...that would pretty much keep me happy.
pgk Posted September 11, 2008 Share #11 Posted September 11, 2008 DMR image qualitySL viewfinder IIIg size & weight R lenses I could handle M8 size & weight but otherwise you sum up pretty well what would satisfy me. Can I add manual shutter wind and low power consumption?

Overgaard Posted September 11, 2008 Share #13 Posted September 11, 2008 What would you think about a sensor-based image stabilisation? I actually find the 100 ISO Digilux 2 "mode" rather easy to handheld down to 1/4 - which is why I don't consider higher ISO the no 1 priority. As for tele, I was actually not thinking a tele converter but a tele camera. So if fixed lenses, give me a D2.2 with fixed tele zoom, but a f/2.8, not a f/5.6. If you notice, most press photographers has two cameras; one wide angle zoom, one tele zoom. So two Digilux 2 in the field wouldn't be that crazy. Imagine how easy and light things would be. The Elpro works fine for close-up.
