farnz Posted August 22, 2008 Share #21 Posted August 22, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have used Leicas in the past with film. I would like to see Leica come out with a Digital Camera for weddings, Then I will switch from a Canon to Leica," Dreaming" Even if they did, for the wedding to be legal I think you'd still have to get a Canon to say the magic words "... I now pronounce you Man and Wife." Pete.

farnz Posted August 22, 2008 Share #22 Posted August 22, 2008 Like this? Is that the new, quieter shutter, James? Pete.
SJP Posted August 22, 2008 Share #23 Posted August 22, 2008 Or, here's a REAL wedding camera: Single-Use Wedding Cameras Regards, Bill This looks like an ideal (up)market slot for the M8, with the added advantage that it is not single use so your guests wil be even happier than normally would have been the case. In addition for some (Hollywood etc.) weddings doing this would only make a minor dent in the overall budget.

stuny Posted August 22, 2008 Share #25 Posted August 22, 2008 Jamie - Thank you, but a bit more info, please. My only flash is the Metz 54c with Leica module. What settings do you use on your R/DMR? Thank you.

elansprint72 Posted August 22, 2008 Share #27 Posted August 22, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think my V-Lux1 has a "wedding mode", it's somewhere near the "party", "fireworks", "candle-light", and "baby1/baby2" modes.
Jamie Roberts Posted August 23, 2008 Share #28 Posted August 23, 2008 Jamie - Thank you, but a bit more info, please. My only flash is the Metz 54c with Leica module. What settings do you use on your R/DMR? Thank you. Hi Stuart, I use manual mode on the DMR and Auto mode on the flash. For indoors, pick the aperture I want to use and set the flash for that aperture. Then I set the ambient, usually, between 1 and 2 stops below the ideal using the shutter... (shutter= more or less ambient and aperture = more or less flash, within the synch range of course). Does that make sense? Outdoors, I'll reverse this if I'm looking to get some slight fill; the flash needs to be 1-2 stops under ambient and needs to be reflected off something, usually... even a white card. I don't ever want direct flash unless it's truly 3 or more stops under and just filling a shadow...
