What SD-card speed can the DMR utilize?

I can see a small difference in buffer-speed between 50X and 133X Kingston 2GB SD-cards in the DMR.

Has anyone found the "limit of speed" the DMR can utilize?

I know, for the Digilux 2, any card speed higher 50X is a waste of money. But haven't performed the test on the DMR. Hope someone has.

Thanks. Just ordered a SanDisc Extrene III that I will get today

SanDisk | Products | Photo & Video | Extreme III SD Cards

as well as a Patriot

Patriot Memory - Patriot Flash Memory

Have a flood of Kingston 50x cards that work fine

Kingston Technology Company - Flash Memory - Secure Digital - Elite Pro

but seem a little slower (like 15% slower) than the 133X Kingston cards Kingston Technology Company - Flash Memory - Secure Digital - Ultimate

Shall be intersting to test the differences.

I left one of my Transcend 4G 150 cards in my shorts. After my wife discovered that it must have been in the washing machine & then spilled out in the dryer, I plugged it in the computer & down loaded the images. I still can't believe it.

Thanks for the info on Transcend 4GB card. Haven't been able to find 4GB cards for DMR so far. So I can go look for Transcend now.

Did you use Ajax or Ariel for your SD-card? ;-)

OKAY, so I just did the test today as to speed of SD cards in the DMR. 9 continuous DNG shots and how long it takes from first shot till all nine pictures are stored and the camera rests completely again:

38 seconds - 2GB Kingston 50X

38 seconds - 2GB Kingston 133X

36 seconds - 2GB SanDisk Extreme III (20 MB/S = ca. 133X)

44 seconds - 2GB Patriot 133X
