Hi everyone from a relative newcomer to this forum.

Since I alway shoot in Raw mode, I'm thinking of buying a larger capacity SD card for my Digilux 2 and was hoping for some recomendations. Will the Digilux 2 work with the new SDHC cards and if so, is there an upper limit on the capacity, or does it really have to be the standard SD card?

Thanks in advance,

John.

John,

The D2 was (I think) released in 2004, which is well before SDHC cards were introduced, and I'm not aware of a firmware update that enables their use (if one was even possible). So I'm sure that they're not compatible with SDHC cards but I use a 'standard' 2GB SD card with mine and I can't recall changing it during the day.

Pete.

Sorry to say the Digilux 2 cannot use any SD of the HC variety. This could have been simply cured maybe by a firmware update but none was released, so officially your only one and safe limit is with the 2Gb SD card.

There have been (and are?) a few non-standard SD cards (I mean non-HC ones) on the market that allowed for 4Gb, never used them personally but heard reports of other users who did successfully. Anyway just because they are non-standard you should test them on your camera before committing.

Hope this helps.
