earleygallery Posted October 13, 2008 Share #201 Posted October 13, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi all, I arrived home this evening. It was lovely and sunny in Krakow today again, and I sat in the square enjoying what will probably be my last glimpse of summer for this year! It was too nice to bother with museums or galleries! I walked very reluctantly to the station when it was time to go...... Thank you to everyone for making it such a great weekend, for me it was the most sociable Challenge weekend yet, and it was so nice to be able to spend more time with everyone. At the risk of sounding like a bit of a nutter, I also had an interesting experience at my apartment on Saturday evening when I returned - I have an open mind about the supernatural and I'm a rational person (most of the time), but the young lady who was in my room and disappeared in a flash after staring at me for a few seconds resulted in me having to back out and find the nearest bar where I sat drinking Vodka for several hours! How did we forget the group shot?! Well, everyone is at the dinner anyway, heres a couple more shots. Welcome, dear visitor! andybarton Posted October 14, 2008 Author Share #205 Posted October 14, 2008 At the risk of sounding like a bit of a nutter, I also had an interesting experience at my apartment on Saturday evening when I returned - I have an open mind about the supernatural and I'm a rational person (most of the time), but the young lady who was in my room and disappeared in a flash after staring at me for a few seconds resulted in me having to back out and find the nearest bar where I sat drinking Vodka for several hours! . Bloody hell... I'd have been out to find a new room, pronto. I _was_ going to ask you for details of your apartment, but I think I'll leave it now, thanks Rebecca took some nice shots of the group while we were there - I'll post some of them on her behalf later. StS Posted October 14, 2008 Share #206 Posted October 14, 2008 I have an open mind about the supernatural and I'm a rational person (most of the time), but the young lady who was in my room and disappeared in a flash after staring at me for a few seconds resulted in me having to back out and find the nearest bar where I sat drinking Vodka for several hours! It depends how you define 'disappear'. I have seen several ladys disappearing from my appartement. However, since this always happened in accordance to principal natural laws, this did not give any reason for concern or to give back my degree in Physics
earleygallery Posted October 14, 2008 Share #207 Posted October 14, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I don't think it was that kind of disappearance Stefan, I wasn't that lucky in the first place! Andy, a few vodkas helped I stayed out until I was so tired I'd have slept anywhere! Well, ok it was until they closed the bar. Had a panic today when I went to get my 'challenge' film to develop it, and couldn't find it Only after emptying everything from my case and bag and opening everything did it turn up. Phew. Its washing right now.......
StS Posted October 14, 2008 Share #208 Posted October 14, 2008 This is a possible interpretation of what I've said Sometimes I have the feeling the most appropriate language to tell a joke is English, whereas the most appropriate language to plan a project is German... erl Posted October 14, 2008 Share #209 Posted October 14, 2008 Right now I am in the middle of a Fes Fantasy. Sitting at a computer that has between 3 and 4 characters on each key. Typing is a trial. Pics in Fes abound, but I digress. Krakow was brilliant, the company excellent, food and wine and beer abounded. How will my pictures measure up to that standard. Oh well, you can,t win them all. I see the 1st images are appearing. Mine will have to wait till 1st week in November when I return to Oz. My thanks to James for organizing the dinner and I think Steve for organizing the Bunker meeting. And to all competitors and their companions for being such a sociable group. Shucran. Now, back to shooting the Fassi,s.
stunsworth Posted October 14, 2008 Share #210 Posted October 14, 2008 Here's the moment after the challenge when Robert showed Brian what the play button does on an M8. Up to that point he'd been taking his cards to Boots to have the 'film' developed! M8, 35mm pre-ASPH Summilux Welcome, dear visitor! farnz Posted October 14, 2008 Share #211 Posted October 14, 2008 It looks and sounds like you all had a wonderful time and I'm a little envious that I couldn't be there. It'll have to be next year if it (hopefully) happens again. Well done, James, in particular for organising the event! Pete.

It'll have to be next year if it (hopefully) happens again. Well done, James, in particular for organising the event! Indeed, a big round of applause to James for organising everything and finding an excellent restaurant. The cafe we met in was also superb, and since it was near to my hotel I tended to drop in there when I was heading back to my room in the late afternoon. Roll on next year!
