Advertisement Posted September 23, 2006 Posted September 23, 2006 Hi graham_mitchell, Take a look here Maria, beauty. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Sandokan Posted September 23, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 23, 2006 Indeed a beauty & I hope to see more off her. Not sure if the second shot does anything for her. There is not an expression I can see in her face - eg sultry, sexy, laughing, sad ... Also, her hair is looking dry and grey.
stuny Posted September 23, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 23, 2006 Graham - Lovely, all the more impressive for the broad, bright lighting wihich makes it impossilbe to hide flaws - the implication for the model is that she'll be seen as fresher and more appropriate for paid work. I also like that the hair to the right is in the dark so that side of her face and her chin stand out in contrast to the background.

petert531 Posted September 24, 2006 Share #5 Posted September 24, 2006 Gorgeous girl. Looks like you used a dish. People can now see how important angle is with this lighting not to mention how much touch up goes on after the fact-much more needed in the 2nd picture. Very delicate makeup to allow the girl to shine through. You may want to place the light modifier just a little higher and get what is called a butterfly in english. The steeper angle is tougher again on the face, but hers can take it. You'll get some modelling and shadow and make a good picture just a little bit better. vic vic Posted September 25, 2006 Share #7 Posted September 25, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) graham... i love many of your photos, u know, but this one is .... u know - not very good :-))))) too much make up... or too much retouching. the make up is not correct = doesnt go with the stream of the face. not your problem i guess but u r the photographer - u should be aware of it. light up only the main light (without the additional lights) and it will be contrasty enough - u will not need even a poloroid to see the make up effect. the crop...... no, doesnt work.. too cropped in my taste, and if u want cropped than not cropped enough.... the cuts are not good i mean.... lighting....... very boring... very very boring. i mean, u can make simple lighting but something should be intresting there. sometimes something is so intresting that u want to make only simple lighting. but add here that the exression is not very good. the face doesnt speack... it just looks to the camera like a teenager model :-))))) sorry man - simply not in your class (from what i saw once on your website).
