The Audi showroom had the R8 (named after a Leica product no doubt, much to the consternation of their Canon sponsor) on a turntable in front of a backdrop of the Park Avenue overpass to get around Grand Central. At this angle I thought the tableau looked like an illustration.

Pete - Thank you. I took it with my Mickey Mouse 620 camera (you look thorugh a hole in Mickey's head, click the shutter in the left eye by sticking your finger in his right ear), all through the plate glass window. Actually not. I was in the showroom, but using my Pana version of the C-Lux, which some will say is a toy camera.

Gunnar & Tom - Thank you.

Ivan - Thank you. I haven't shown it to them yet but plan to.

Thank you. I was a bit discouraged that few seemed to have looked at this image initially, especially since I thought it was rather nice. And yes, our little P&S gems are wonderful if used within their limitations.

David & Charlie -

Thank you. I gave a copy of this photo and of the DWK Meister Cabriolet to the people here. The next week I told them our impressions of Barbara's new A5. They gave me a book and a CD.

Yes Stuart the Lambo. gave the wrong impression.

My actual means of transportation as you can see from my avatar is a Moulton New Series

bicycle designed by Dr. Alex Moulton who also designed and engineered the suspension

for the original mini motor car.

George

Fabulous color and composition of the shot Stuart

The only small point I'd make is on focal point: I think you've picked the number on the side of the car (which is fine) but my personal choice usually is the wheel or lightcasing nearest me when I shoot

To my eye it just looks a bit soft in the front where I would prefer to have great detail, and it's simply the shortcoming of light and lens in this setting

These cars are something to behold in the flesh: spooky quiet with only a whoosh of wind as they go racing by

Some kind of accomplishment by Audi what they've done with their racing R8 (and just as well with the road-going car of the same name!)

Thanks

AB

Allan -

It's really good to see you back and know you are well. I'm no doubt only one of many looking forward to seeing your latest photos of the Brickyard, the university, even merridian.

Thank you, and you're right. I gave it no thought since I was using my PanaLieca P&S.
