To each his own... But the market doesn't lie. Millions of DSLRs sold and 99% wedding shooters use DSLRs as their main system around the globe. Doesn't get much more perfect then that, IMO.

But yeah, this is a M8 forum so the overprotection is to be expected.

Sorry for my following emotionell answer:

...and billions of flys eat shit...arround the globe...;-))

regards

Herb

Believe it or not, there are a lot of wedding pros also using M8s including fellow member Jamie Roberts (James Roberts Photography - Weddings, Portraits & Special Events) and Andrew Niesen from LaCour (LaCour | Photography | Wedding Photography | Atlanta | New York | Miami).

Please feel free to post any questions you may have.

Cheers,

I am absolutely FLOORED by LaCour, that guy is AMAZING. were i getting married and he local, he would be at the top of a very very very short list.

just honestly - WOW.

Recently I've been struggling with figuring out what system I want to use for weddings. I just started last year and have been using Pentax. I love the small primes, but I'd like to at least have option to go full frame someday. I've used an M6 for fun at weddings and started thinking that I could get an M8 to use temporarily until I can either afford an M9 or after an M9.2 or M10 comes out and prices drop a bit. That way I could start investing more in m-mount lenses. I came across this thread and I think I will be getting an M8 to use in conjunction with my M6 as soon as I can afford it. I've always been an admirer of Riccis's stuff, but it was great to see that other photographers are successfully using rangefinders. Lots of talent on here.

Here are a few of my recent shots with the M6 just for fun.
