stuny Posted September 17, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 17, 2006 John - Excellent use of the C-Lux, at "28" no doubt. I like the foreground framing, overall detail and depth. Perhaps it needs just a touch of increased color saturation. This might also be interesting in B&W.
yavetshm Posted September 17, 2006 Share #4 Posted September 17, 2006 John I like the sharpness of this beautiful picture. Haim

gylee Posted September 18, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 18, 2006 John Impressive use of an impressive little camera. Perhaps it is just my PC at work, but the colour or perhaps the WB looks slightly off (a very mild blue tinge). Is it just my imagination? G.

jmr Posted September 18, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted September 18, 2006 Thanks for the comments guys. I think you're right Gordon, I hadn't seen it until you mentioned it, but there is a bit of a blue cast to the shot which makes it look somewhat colder than it actually was on that morning. leicamann Posted September 19, 2006 Share #9 Posted September 19, 2006 Hmm good shot..don't like the place though. I find it ironic to see a cross there when in fact this is a place where Christians were ritualistcally slaughtered. Thanks for sharing Regards, Leicamann:)
andybarton Posted September 19, 2006 Share #10 Posted September 19, 2006 John M The recess just above where the cross is, is where the Emporer and his chums used to sit to watch the games. I think that this could be read as the triumph of Christianity overcoming the barbarity of the Roman Empire prior to its own conversion. Your interpretation may vary, as they say The Colosseum really is a most impressive building regardless of its age. I can't wait to go back and have another visit. Thanks for sharing this John.
