Advertisement Posted May 25, 2008 Posted May 25, 2008 Hi the warrior, Take a look here HELP PLEASE. Leica-canon and lens -r in M8. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jamie Roberts Posted May 25, 2008 Share #2 Posted May 25, 2008 For some of the purposes you mention (macro and so on), you don't want an M rangefinder style camera--that's really SLR territory. And to my knowledge, you can't mount R lenses on an M camera at all. But for people, portraits, and event / street shooting, if you like rangefinders, then you'll like the M8 better than a heavy SLR. But you need M glass.
philipotto Posted May 25, 2008 Share #3 Posted May 25, 2008 R lenses may be mounted to an M body with the appropriate adapter, but you are relegated to scale focusing, thus this is really only suitable for wide angeles or shooting at infinity. For use of your R lenses, have you looked at the DMR? You may also want to hold off until Photokina to see what R news it brings. Philip
rosuna Posted May 25, 2008 Share #4 Posted May 25, 2008 You can use a Visoflex and the proper adapter to R: Adapters: Visoflex System I agree with Jamie in any case. R.

They will fit with the Leicina adapter - but they won't focus to infinity on the Viso - the register is too long.
