How To Compensate For LCD Fadeout in Sun

Is there anything to prevent sunlight from washing out the LCD screen? I just purchased a Clux-2 and can't see much in the LCD screen outside in the sunlight.

I also bought one for my nephew to help take pictures of his kids. They are so good about sending us pictures we would benefit from them having a good camera.

Thanks,

Carlos Marques

Carlos -

Go into the manual for the camera. I think (based on the Panasonic version of that camera) you can temporarily boost the brightness of the LCD screen to help overcome the washout.

The boost feature has very little effect outside. It could be the time of day being about 2:00 PM with the sun being overhead. That's the downside with no viewfinder.

Thanks William for the link to the LCD sheld. I'm going to look to see if that's a viable option for this little camera.

I also own a V-Lux and love it and will use the C-Lux along with it. There are times when I can only manage a small camera. I play recoders with an early music group and there is so much to carry around the large camera is a hassel. We leased a château in the Loire Valley this summer and will play for an English country dance group workshop. I want to be able to hand a simple camera to people without too much fuss.

I'll post pictures afterwards. It should be a fun event.
