marc_dufour Posted September 7, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 7, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I didn't understand how this man could concentrate with all this activity going on (and his client be so quiet ;-)). R 6.2, Elmarit 2:8/24, Velvia 100. Thanks for looking.
Advertisement Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Hi marc_dufour, Take a look here Street barber. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
semrich Posted September 7, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 7, 2006 And your being that close taking his picture with him using a straight razor. Seriously this is a very nice documentary of crowded conditions and people taking to the streets for all manner of businesses. Wish I could squat like him, just think of the new perspective I could get taking pictures. Richard
fotografr Posted September 7, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 7, 2006 I think I know why the client was so quiet and still. Could it have something to do with a straight razor inches from his throat? Good composition. I'm glad you didn't sneeze while so close.

marc_dufour Posted September 7, 2006 Author Share #6 Posted September 7, 2006 Thanks, Victor, I'm glad you like it. It's the second time I go to India, but I'm sure I'll come back. The people are even more impressive than its lanscape or monuments. Marc
stuny Posted September 7, 2006 Share #7 Posted September 7, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Marc - Terrific, of course. I must agree with you about the Indians being even more impressive than their astonishing monuments and geography -- We will return someday, too. I really like the color, framing, and the out of focus suggestion of the typical busyness. Teh barber's squat is a common restful pose we've seen throughout Asia. marc_dufour Posted September 7, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted September 7, 2006 Stuart, I'm glad you like it. Besides the beautiful faces and attitudes, their patience with us is the other unpayable virtue ;-) Curiously, the most peaceful and gentle people I knew there wee sijs, supposedly the fiercest etnic group. I shall send some picture, later. I've a great memory of them, and I'm sure I'll go to Punjab someday. Thanks for looking and comment. Marc
