wolfnowl Posted March 11, 2008 Share #10 Posted March 11, 2008 Man, that brought up memories... I don't have a lot of memories of my grandmother as she died of cancer when I was about ten or so. But I do have this one... My grandmother was a farm woman, maybe five feet tall but stocky and she didn't take flack from anyone. And I remember she always wore a full-length apron over her dress. One day when I was about four or so, we were visiting and I was outside playing. Saw this flock of white geese, and waddled over to say hello. Well, they started snapping and hissing at me, and I turned and ran, screaming my head off, with these geese in hot pursuit. Then my grandmother came flying out of the house, wielding a straw broom like a samurai sword, swatting geese left and right, lifting them clean off the ground and flapping in her wake. She was my saviour that day... Mike.
mhoersch Posted March 11, 2008 Share #11 Posted March 11, 2008 Martin, thanks for sharing this picture. I think it is one of the rather rare pictures of animals which are genuinely funny without making fun of the animals. Great! Mike, thank you for sharing your memory which I find very touching. Made me think of my own grandmother...
