Guest Metroman Posted September 4, 2006 Share #1  Posted September 4, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) ..... would one's Summicron-C 1:2/40 mm off one's CL work on an MP - if one were to buy one. Advertisement Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Hi Guest Metroman, Take a look here Hypothetically speaking......... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest lll Posted September 4, 2006 Share #2  Posted September 4, 2006 Practically, Metroman,  it works!  Just look which frame is shown in the viewfinder. I have got a custom built one by Leitz, which shows the 40 and the 90mm frame instead of the 40 and 50mm of the normal series. For composing with an MP consider that the exposed field on the film is quite exactly betweeen the 35 and the 50mm frame.  Regards  Friedhelm
captain Posted September 4, 2006 Share #3 Â Posted September 4, 2006 Yes it will work fine but it will bring up the 50mm frameines which may not suit everyone. Great lens though.
lct Posted September 4, 2006 Share #4  Posted September 4, 2006 File the flange here to bring up the 35mm frame. For more details, see http://tinyurl.com/92tcw
Guest Metroman Posted September 5, 2006 Share #5 Â Posted September 5, 2006 Friedhelm, James many thanks for your help. Â LCT thanks interesting mod but I am not allowed tools and sharp objects! Wife says it ends up costing more and we then have to get a professional in to sort out my inept use of tools

Trevor Hare Posted September 5, 2006 Share #9 Â Posted September 5, 2006 I use a 40mm Nokton Classic on my M6 TTL 0.72 Â It brings up 50mm frame which is OK with me as (with my spectacles) the 35mm is far from ideal. Â I just use the entire VF. Plus if I ever sell my lens I dont want to explain why it have bits filed off. Â Metroman, have you got the new DVD of Betjeman's Metroland? Guest Metroman Posted September 5, 2006 Share #10  Posted September 5, 2006 I did it with this personally...FWIW    Ahhhhhhhh....sharp, pointy things     Metroman, have you got the new DVD of Betjeman's Metroland?  Trevor yes!!!  I and a group of other 'MetroLand' fans have been banging on at the Beeb to release it since around 1998. The Beeb's answer was it would not be viable as they couldn't justify the cost of production versus actual sales.  Guess what, they bring it out for the commemoration and have them on 'back order' as the demand has outstripped supply apparently!  At least it has spurred me on to get the site back together at last.....
