imported_peter_m Posted February 17, 2008 Share #5 Posted February 17, 2008 Who are you guys Had me stumped for half the day, the Quick reply had disappeared as well. After the user agreement screen...all is well again. There was a big fuss about displaying names a wile back on the German side, I guess Andreas figured it may be best to make some changes. Jet Posted February 17, 2008 Share #6 Posted February 17, 2008 I thought I had been banned. Even my personal information has been removed from the Leica website, has anyone else noticed this also? Perhaps it was removed with the update of web page?
LUF Admin Posted February 17, 2008 Share #7 Posted February 17, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sorry for that! Because of German privacy laws I had to make some changes to the rules and take out the full names. In the German forum a already made an announcement but here I'm a little bit late. The acknowledgement to the new rules was planned fo the next week - my fault that it popped up this night! masjah Posted February 17, 2008 Share #11 Posted February 17, 2008 Is it OK to have my name displayed if I myself have incorporated it into my signature?
LUF Admin Posted February 17, 2008 Share #12 Posted February 17, 2008 Of course everyone is free to include the full name into your postings or signature. I don't like this rule too but I do respect the wish for privacy of some members and I have to observe German laws. Andreas
robert_parker Posted February 25, 2008 Share #13 Posted February 25, 2008 Hi Andreas I repect your position as stated above and have placed my own comment here: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/barnack-s-bar/46960-there-go-names.html
farnz Posted February 28, 2008 Share #14 Posted February 28, 2008 Sorry for that! Because of German privacy laws I had to make some changes to the rules and take out the full names ... Andreas, Is it possible to have the option to include your full name and still satisfy German legal requirements? That way we could each choose not to include our name or other details. Pete. LUF Admin Posted February 28, 2008 Share #15 Posted February 28, 2008 Andreas, Is it possible to have the option to include your full name and still satisfy German legal requirements? That way we could each choose not to include our name or other details. Pete. Uhm. I think it's possible but not easy to implement. I prefer the signature solution where the user types in his/her name. Clicking a checkbox without knowing the consequences leads to whining afterwards: "I didn't know that the WHOLE internet will see my name..." OK? Best regards from Bonn Andreas Yes, I understand. Thanks for taking the time to clarify though. Pete.
Sandokan Posted March 1, 2008 Share #17 Posted March 1, 2008 Hi Andreas, Your current statement under the "Name" field is explicit that this forum will not publish nor divulge the name - so until that statement is changed, communicated and agreed - you should/must not publish the name in the Avatar. My other suggestion would be for a tick box to allow people the choice - but that was answered above. Yours Ravi
