ejd Posted February 3, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 3, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) ....for buying used R lenses? If a digital R appears later in the year, particularly if it has e.g., full frame and other attractive features, will there a be rush to buy R lenses? At the moment, there seem to be quite a few around at relatively low prices. When the M8 appeared, as I recall, a surfeit of used M lenses disappeared from the shops very quickly, especially the shorter focal lengths. Or is there too much of a chance that old R lenses will not work on a new R digital? (Unlikely, I would have thought.)

cocker Posted February 3, 2008 Share #2 Posted February 3, 2008 John, I'm not an R man but I noticed that Aperture in London is offering 30% of all their R lenses at the moment. Aperture Photographic Tel. 020 7242 8681
ejd Posted February 3, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted February 3, 2008 -- yes, I noticed that too. I was not intending to be an R man. But I found a v cheap macro elmarit 60mm lens a while back, and a v cheap SL to put it on, determined to get in no deeper. But I find I'm tempted by one or two of these things. lct Posted February 3, 2008 Share #4 Posted February 3, 2008 Given low prices so far the market must think that existing R lenses won't be 100% compatible with the R10. Just made the opposite bet myself (bought 8 lenses for €2.5K) but i might be wrong.
