fielden Posted January 29, 2008 Share #1 Posted January 29, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am looking to purchase a 35mm summicron but I have seen a couple of Leitz 40mm C lenses for a Leica CL. Is this the same bayonet fitting as my M8? Or would I need an adaptor.

See: Leica and Rangefinders Forum: How to modify a 40mm Summicron-C (with photos) - photo.net Also the sloping cam of the 40/2 (here on M4-2) might cause focusing problems according to some rumors but i haven't got any with my 3 copies of that lens on either my Ms or Epson rangefinders. Never tried the 40/2 on a M8 though. See: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-forum/digital-forum/16593-40mm-m-rokkor-m8-2.html

andym911 Posted March 18, 2008 Share #5 Posted March 18, 2008 I just got one myself and it works perfectly on the M8. Actually focusses perfectly , even better than several of my other lenses. andy
