kinross Posted Tuesday at 07:11 PM Share #1 Posted Tuesday at 07:11 PM Advertisement (gone after registration) The goggles for my 50mm Summacron lens have been lost. I am trying to replace them The lens is calibrated in feet and metres. I believe this makes a difference. Can anyone tell me how to identify the correct goggles if I can find some thanks. Advertisement Posted Tuesday at 07:11 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:11 PM Hi kinross, Take a look here Lens Goggles . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted Tuesday at 08:27 PM Share #2 Posted Tuesday at 08:27 PM I assume you mean the Summicron 50 DR? It cannot make a difference. Meters or feet are just an engraving and have nothing to do with calibration. Just make sure you get goggles for the correct focal length. There are removable goggles for the Summaron 35/3.5 around. (Which probably won't fit)

dg4mgr Posted Tuesday at 09:38 PM Share #4 Posted Tuesday at 09:38 PM (edited) Here are images that show the goggles: https://www.kenrockwell.com/leica/50mm-f2-dr.htm Afaik, there is only one version of the goggles for the DR Summicron. Goggles for the 35 mm lenses are black on the front side, not chrome. Edited Tuesday at 09:44 PM by dg4mgr
a.noctilux Posted 23 hours ago Share #5 Posted 23 hours ago For me two versions: The fixing "ball" is available in two sizes. Only this is something to check before buying one ... Every DR lens has real focal length of 51.9mm so don't worry. I have many units and the "goggles" are interchanged between lens only if the "ball" is right. Welcome, dear visitor! johnkunstadter Posted 18 hours ago Share #7 Posted 18 hours ago Advertisement (gone after registration) Mike, Stephen Gandy has a page which may help in describing the correct goggles for your lens: https://www.cameraquest.com/m50dr.htm You describe your DR Summicron as having a dual feet and meter scale; thus it would be the later type of DR. You should look for the goggles whose Leitz Wetzlar logo on the front is not surrounded by a frame line (a.noctilux's photo in the post above mine shows the correct goggles for the later DR).
