I have been reading your message various times to understand the question as it seems to me all the photos are pretty close to actual body tint. At least they all actually resemble my camera. Bear in mind that contrary to black (or silver) body the tint changes slightly depending on the light which is actually the case in everyday life. And It’s pretty… to my eyes. This said it seems the lenses have very similar tint … at least to my eyes again. and this said, again, I much prefer the green body with a black or silver lenses than these green ones … but again that is a personal point of view and when I’ll actually see it mounted I may change mind. I was talking about the products photos of post #1. I see different green colors both for lens and m11 safari.

That’s why you see differences on the shots. 😉

Eoin Posted 18 hours ago Share #67 Posted 18 hours ago Advertisement (gone after registration) I saw the new BP mounted on an analogue black paint M and the lack of depth in the colour and lack of gloss was very apparent. However looking at it on a more "modern black paint" camera it seems to be a much better match. I've fought GAS on this one, I had thought I had overcome it, until I see it here. Time to go watch Avatar 3 and try forget about it... again. 1

I’m struggling which one to get or neither. i have a m11-P safari and m10-r black paint Edited 15 hours ago by Elliot Harper
catacore Posted 12 hours ago Share #69 Posted 12 hours ago Sorry @bernstein1234 but I can't resist asking you: how's the feel of the aperture ring? Loose, normal? I had 2 copies of the silver/chrome version that I sent back due to a loose aperture ring. Thanks!

I think it really begs the question, longterm will you be keeping either camera, what will you replace it with?, would you go safari or black paint again. Subjectively, I think green on green is more military issue looking, if you sold the safari and didn't replace it with another safari... would you be happy with a green lens on a black or silver body. Get the black paint for the M10R, job done!. 😉

Nevertheless, I am not sure it would be fine for you to. It clicks in to each stop. Does not change unintentionally, does not need much power to change either. The glass is different, BP is the reissued Classic and Safari is the latest version, including close focus. They render different as well, so it depends on what is more important to you, glass or cosmetics. Also, the BP is about 50 grams heavier than the Safari. If you don’t mind the extra weight, I would go for the Classic, it renders beautifully but BP won’t look good on the Safari camera. Chrome would look good on both. I have a vintage Summilux 50/1.4 v2 in v1 housing. That's why I hesitate to get the BP because it's kind of duplicate. Safari is a modern version that I don't own, that's why I am inclined to. By the way, I can get BP for EUR3500 and Safari for EUR3850, plus VAT.

The aperture ring on my copy clicks assuringly with a click sound. Not too tight and not too loose - just right. Extra info: I also complied a mini review of aperture rings of lenses I tried before: Too loose: 35 FLE 1, 50 APO black, 28 Summilux Black Too tight: 50 Summilux ASPH Brass

Clicks to each stop, not wobbly, does not need much force to change aperture.
