I saw some speculation online about the battery life of the M EV1 with the EVF running - I can report that shooting all weekend, I never needed to recharge the battery.

Leica batteries are excellent - and I don't feel the need to buy a spare for the M EV1.

During the test phase, I took 50-200 pictures a day. Compared to the M11-P, I didn't notice any battery problems. However, I always switch off unnecessary power consumers (on all cameras).

250 a day

That would be on the high end for most people shooting with M, I think. Which EVF/LCD mode and power saving settings did you use?

I never needed more than one battery per day, but I did not shoot that many images per day.

The battery usage is also very dependent how you use the camera when not shooting (wifi transfers, image browsing, menu usage, etc).

I have rear LCD on with auto switch to EVF on eye detection - but I power off the camera when not shooting. I left auto power off at default settings, as I likely always power-off manually any way.

I did not use WiFi/BT. I do chimp images in the field

The battery lasted me all day, with approximately 280 RAW images and about 55% remaining capacity. This was despite frequently checking shots on the display, something I never normally do. However, I was using the viewfinder-only setting, i.e., EFV Extended. Despite this setting and the touchscreen activated, I often unintentionally moved the focus crosshair by focusing with my nose (using my left eye). Not a huge problem, though, as I've set the focus crosshair to center on the function button in the upper right corner.
