PeLu Posted Thursday at 11:08 PM Share #1 Posted Thursday at 11:08 PM Advertisement (gone after registration) Someone wrote than the Noctilux 0,95 is the most bought and sold lens. Nailing focus exactly is hard but an EVF makes it much easier. So with that in mind - will the launch of the M EV1 (and maybe more similar EVF cameras in the future) create an increasing demand for Noctilux lenses?
Advertisement Posted Thursday at 11:08 PM Posted Thursday at 11:08 PM Hi PeLu, Take a look here Will M EV1 make noctilux shine?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
FrozenInTime Posted Thursday at 11:29 PM Share #2 Posted Thursday at 11:29 PM The f/1.0 Noctilux had strong focus shift when stopping down from f/1 ... f/2 ...f/4 ; it would benefit most from an EVF. The larger f/0.95 was less affected. 1
lct Posted Friday at 01:41 AM Share #3 Posted Friday at 01:41 AM Besides focus shift referred to by @FrozenInTime above, fast 50mm lenses are not the most difficult to focus on RF cameras when correctly calibrated. Less so than lenses like 75/1.25, 90/1.5 or 135/3.4 for instance. It is with those lenses that the benefit of EVFs is mainly expected, i suppose, but there also situations where DoF is shallow for other reasons than fast apertures, like in macro works.
tappan Posted Friday at 01:42 AM Share #4 Posted Friday at 01:42 AM Or the 21mm 'Lux?
lct Posted Friday at 02:19 AM Share #5 Posted Friday at 02:19 AM At full aperture, 21/1.4 lenses must have a similar DoF as a 50mm lens at about f/8, i suppose. UWA lenses have a very wide DoF.
3D-Kraft.com Posted Friday at 06:59 AM Share #6 Posted Friday at 06:59 AM The 75/1.25 Noct definitely benefits from the EVF.
lexffm Posted yesterday at 07:37 AM Share #7 Posted yesterday at 07:37 AM Advertisement (gone after registration) The above also applies to the Summilux-M 1:1.5 /90 ASPH. Leica wrote the following: „In terms of appearance and design, it is closely related to the Noctilux-M 1:1.25/75 ASPH. and offers approximately the same extremely shallow depth of field, which is only about half that of the Noctilux-M 1:0.95/50 ASPH.“

Elliot Harper Posted 18 hours ago Share #10 Posted 18 hours ago (edited) My SL3/S has already made my noctilux 50/1.2 shine. I don’t need another dubious M camera to make it shinier Edited 18 hours ago by Elliot Harper
01maciel Posted 15 hours ago Share #11 Posted 15 hours ago After taking my Noctilux for a walk today, I realised once again that it still shines very brightly, even on an old M10. Here is an image from this morning:

He never mentions focusing difficulties; rather he cites boredom with weight and with shooting wide open (bokeh craze, presumably), and notes that it’s his least favorite rendering Noctilux.

Your probably correct! I tend to read way to many posts/newspapers/facebook etc in bed before I sleep. So I probably mixed things up. But focus and weight has been issues for quite a few. Regarding boredom - I think it’s like candy. You can’t have to much of it, then you get sick!😆
