Anyone else having problems with Firefox on a Mac?

I'm using the latest version - 2.0.0.11 - of the browser on a Mac and the program freezes occasionally, meaning I have to force quit. When I restart every thing's ok and stays that way for a day or two until it freezes again.

The PC version seems ok.

Anyone else having similar problems?

Steve, I've only used Firefox intermittently but never had that trouble as far as I can recall. I do however sometimes have trouble with Safari 3.0.4 freezing occasionally, and also suddenly quitting when attempting to access it from a url in another programme e.g. Mail. I'm still on 10.4.11 - no Leopard until at least 10.5.3!

Steve,

I am using Firefox on my Mac right now, not because I read you mail, but because I almost alway use it.

It works fine for me, knock on wood, and I definitely prefer it to Safari which does not work well with eBay, to mention one example.

I'm still using 10.4.11. Safari has caused one problem after another, and Firefox clearly was better; however, I switched to Camino, and clearly prefer it to Firefox. Camino is programmed as a Mac OSX app only.

IMO, it's faster and easier to use than Firefox- - - - but it doesn't have the variety of plug-ins that are available for Firefox. The current version has all the security updates built-in.

I prefer to use Firefox on my MacBook because I usually run into issues with Safari. No real issues to report with Firefox though

Thanks everyone. I should have added that I've not upgraded the Mac OS yet.

I should also add that the sites I have problems with are ones that are at other times accessed without any issues what so ever. Most strange.

This is only a very occasional problem, more annoying than frustrating, but it would be nice to have it corrected.
