bobtodrick Posted yesterday at 02:00 AM Share #2 Posted yesterday at 02:00 AM Now that's interesting. In the 'old' days I had a bike with Bendix Coaster brakes...you just backpeddles and that applied the brakes. The rear hub on the bike above doesn't look big enough for this so am assuming this bike has no brakes at all...other than the Fred Flinstone type (feet on the ground) 😂
Sandokan Posted yesterday at 04:39 AM Share #3 Posted yesterday at 04:39 AM Even worse than no brakes is there are brakes, but only on the front wheel. I just cannot see the lever.
stuny Posted yesterday at 11:02 AM Share #4 Posted yesterday at 11:02 AM Yikes! As appealing as it is, I wonder if the owner will just abandon it there. Check back every now and then.

I just cannot see the lever. There is a mounting for what could be a brake lever on the right of the handlebars, just before the grip, so maybe there is a lever hidden behind the bar. There is also a cable going up which adds credence to that. And the rear hub could well be a fixed wheel rather than a freewheel, so in theory at least you can put the brake on the back wheel just by trying to stop pedalling. It all looks nice, and might be very expensive, but would be a very specialised device to ride around on. I tried a "fixie" once and found it terrifying!
