Kinks Gone, Firmware Improvements. Anybody Turn to the M11 Recently?

M10-R users. Have the last couple of years of M11 firmware improvements, apparently solving the early M11 problems, made you think about upgrading? Has anyone upgraded recently.
Thoughts? Were you happy with the move? Any regrets?

Just recently added M10-R to my M10. The M11 adds nothing I want.

I went to my dealer with money in hand to buy an M11, but whilst handling it side by side with an M10-R, it only took a few minutes to decide on the M10-R.

 it was the aggregation of the many points written in this forum that allowed the M10-R to win my purchase and I have continuous enjoyment with the results.

i didn’t know that the M11 had solved its issues. But I don’t see any reason other than the resolution to be an advantage over the 10r. and I have other cameras that match or exceed it.

Ask users in the M10 section whether the M11 is now better and you expect what answer? 😂

Nip over to a Porsche forum and ask them if they prefer BMW’s?

You may get a different response in the M11 section.

I never had an M10-R but still have an M10-P next to my M11 cameras, there is something in the way the camera feels and sounds that's more satisfying than the M11s for me. But, the M11 is more practical for me and my usage. I imagine the gap between the M10-P - M11 and M10-R and M11 is not the same in sense of sensor / dynamic range either, from what I've heard/read, so my experience with that might be less useful for you. One other thing that I always said is that I liked the M10-P colours SOOC better, but now the latest firmware lets us tweak white balance on the M11 more this might not be as relevant anymore, too soon to tell for me.

I think in general if you already have an M10-R and are happy with it, and don't feel like you are missing out on any of the new features, why bother with an upgrade.

And you must ask yourself: is high resolution an advantage for you? Especially on a reportage-type camera. It has its own disadvantages and the advantages are pretty limited for quite a few photographers.  For many general photographers 24 MP is the sweet spot.

I am growing tired of the longer wait downloading and post processing the bigger files from the M10-R than I had with my M9-P and M-10P.
I guess I could spend more money on a computer upgrade to solve some of this, but 60mp seems like a hassle to me.

This sounds like a reason not to change. If you'd said I need USB charging or more MP as I crop a lot then maybe. I don't know how you copy your files across but I find direct from SD much much faster than by cable.

It was quite a revelation when I switched from an Intel Mac to an M2Pro Mac mini Not so much the upload time ( I always use a reader and like coffee) but the time saved in postprocessing, especially modern AI apps. ( no, not generative 🙃)

I agree. For architecture and complex landscape which will be printed in large sizes, I use a Phase One (or a Cambo with the same IQ4 back) and have an S3 as a backup. All that is tripod work, slow, sometimes several minutes if I use frame averaging to get rid of the people passing by. For most everything else, I don't need the resolution, and I work with an M9 and the 10r. The M9 has only 18 mp but it suffices. Actually, it allows lower shutter speeds than the 10r (an advantage of lower resolution).
