Now that’s a shot I don’t expect from an M camera! Well done!

I had a bit more fun with the camera the other evening, with a 1950s W-Nikkor 2.5cm f/4 LTM lens on it.

Looks like this new M is winning lots of fans.  I hope the Monochrome version makes an appearance soon as my M lenses mostly go unused, and I'm mostly a B&W shooter.  Like many of you my eyes aren't getting any younger plus I have nerve damage to my left hand which makes focusing even more challenging.    To those who posted photos thank you, these are very encouraging.

Well, I wonder if a monochrome EV1 will bring me back into the Leica fold.

I sold off all of my Leica gear because of issues with focusing the rangefinder patch.

What are you using to shoot black and white?

I recently got back into shooting black and white by purchasing the Pentax K-3 III monochrome camera. It's nice to have auto focus, and I can shoot it with one hand, my right.

I am experimenting with old manual focus lenses because they're so cheap compared to Leica's lenses, but I do miss the size of the M body and its optics.

A monochrom version is only going to give you marginal improvements to the M EV1. Set your film style to B&W HC and you can see your image right in the viewfinder.

I have found a monochrome sensor to be able to pull out amazing detail from the shadows, so, I'd rather have a monochrome sensor than a color sensor.

I'm torn over electronic viewfinders. I don't like them but I know I might need one. I don't want to look at the world projected on a tiny display.

For now, I went back to a DSLR that gives me an excellent optical viewfinder and perfect framing.
