Leica Summarit 50mm 1.5 on Leica M 11 M

Hi,

I am in the process of purchasing this Leica Summarit 50mm 1.5 lens for my M11.. 

When I fit the lens to the body, go to manual lens set up and set 50 f/1.4 11868/11856/11114

The LV goes dark but hen I 1/2 press the shutter button, the ASA, Shutter speed all come up on a dark screen..

Is this lens with it's adapter compatible with the M11...

Any advice welcomed as I have kept this lens for many years and wish to use it for it's special properties.

using old lenses with adapter is no problem, try to set lens detection off, try an other adapter if possible, if using EVF check correct position

Hi Many  thanks for the advice, the adapter came with the lens, so I will try another.  Do you know of any recommended adapters?

Evf is in correct position.

The 6bit coded Kipon 50.75 # 004071 works well with my Summicron 50/2 collapsible. You may wish to pen code it as Summilux 50/1.4 pre-asph that vignettes more or less the same way as the Summarit 50/1.5.
