cc16051987 Posted 5 hours ago Share #1 Posted 5 hours ago Advertisement (gone after registration) I know there have been many discussions comparing the two etc., but I wanted to get advice particularly in my case- I shoot street photography, mainly do portraits. I just ordered an M11M and had put a deposit on it with a 50 APO, however in my use case scenario I get a feeling I'd be better off with a Summilux close focus and its painterly rendering. What do you guys think? Which would be a better fit on an M11M in regards to street portraiture?
Advertisement Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Hi cc16051987, Take a look here Which 50 on an M11M? (APO Summicron vs close focus Summilux). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
romanus53 Posted 4 hours ago Share #2 Posted 4 hours ago if you need close focus for your street portrait (EVF use only) you'll have to go for that. I do remember rendering is more pleasant with Apo than the Lux-asph as the Lux has a busy bokeh wide open. Discussion is on a high level of lens-quality. The Apo steps back behind your vision of the picture, the Lux may add some character.
jakontil Posted 4 hours ago Share #3 Posted 4 hours ago I have both, whilst i love the rendering of the lux, my street photo lens is an apo cron and a BW film.. apo is great for fashion portraits too unless you need the close focus, u dont have a choice.. if u prefer portraits with moody style and wide open, it is the lux
