Peter-E Posted September 24 Share #1 Posted September 24 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a CL which I love. I’ve started photographing amateur theatre group rehearsals which frequently have very low light. I know that the CL does not have IBIS. Any recommendations for L mount lenses with OIS? Ideally primes 35 - 75 range.
Advertisement Posted September 24 Posted September 24 Hi Peter-E, Take a look here OIS lenses for Leica CL. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tommonego@gmail.com Posted September 26 Share #2 Posted September 26 You can explore some of the Sigma primes, I know some of their longer zooms have OIS but not sure of midrange primes. You can use the CL easily at ISO 800, some what at 1600 and 3200 with a denoise app. I would raise the ISO and find a few fast lenses. The 35 Summilux TL is excellent, and Voigtlander 75 Nokton f1.5 or Heilar f1.8 are very good lenses, the 75 Summilux is excellent but costly, the same for the 50 Summilux. I have a 7 Artisans 55 f1.4 L mount that is a very good lens, but reviews of the lens are sketchy so because of their quality control. So I would raise the ISO and look get a couple of high speed primes.
Rick in CO Posted September 26 Share #3 Posted September 26 You can go to DPReview.com and pull down their lens comparison window to select L-mount lenses and OIS. Can't make any recommendations but a Google search will give some info.
ynp Posted September 26 Share #4 Posted September 26 My Panasonic Lumix S 24-105mm f/4 Macro O.I.S. drained the battery on the CL too much.

I use 2 CL's, one with the 11-23mm and the other with the Lumix 24-105mm and the battery lasts just as long with both. Never been a problem.
Guytou Posted September 29 Share #6 Posted September 29 I don't have a Lumix lens, so I can't answer that. However, I do have a Sigma 105 Macro Art, and with it, the CL's battery drains very quickly ! Guytou
