Yes, if you want high optical quality when wide open, choose modern lens like NIKKOR Z 35mm f1.2S, even at f1.2 there is no color fringes, and focus very accurate. Nokton lens are designed as classic vintage lens, so stop down the aperture is suggested. Voigtlander Ultron will perform better, and the best series is voigtlander Apo.

35mm f1.4 nokton classic mark ii still better than 35mm f1.4 (version 1), and better than 40mm f1.4, the 40mm f1.4 bring 50mm frame, make trouble with M viewfinder.

Never seen purple edges out of the Nokton 35/1.4 SC v2 so far. The lens is not as sharp as a Summilux 35/1.4 asph but it is less soft with less coma than the Summilux 35/1.4 v2. It has less glow than the latter though. Couple of snaps on corners at f/1.4 with M11 + Nokton 35/1.4 SC v2 below. Details in exif data.

• Full frame @ f/1.4 (yellow flower)
• Corner @ f/1.4 (yellow flower)

• Full frame @ f/1.4 (pink flower)
• Corner @ f/1.4 (pink flower)

• Full frame @ f/1.4 (garden tool)
• Corner @ f/1.4 (garden tool)
