bherman01545 Posted July 17 Share #1  Posted July 17 Advertisement (gone after registration) All, I just picked up a Voigtlander 90mm F/2.8 APO Skopar. Should I self 6-bit code it? If so, should I use the coding for a 90mm F/2.8 Elmarit M? I've heard that the 6-bit coding only benefits wide-angle lenses, so should I even bother? Thanks! -Brad
Advertisement Posted July 17 Posted July 17 Hi bherman01545, Take a look here Voigtlander 90mm F/2.8 APO Skopar. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sinjun Posted July 17 Share #2  Posted July 17 I'd only bother if you want some record in EXIF of the focal length used.
lct Posted July 17 Share #3 Â Posted July 17 Depends on cameras you're using with the lens. Some of them (eg M11) need to know the focal length of lenses. For auto iso or perspective control, for instance. My Apo-Skopar 90/2.8 is pen coded as Tele-Elmarit 90/2.8 (code 000100).
