I’m looking for a bag that will fit my M11-P with the Visoflex 2 mounted as it fits awkwardly right now in my Wotancraft Pilot.  I came across the Oberwerth bags and saw one specifically designed for the Visoflex to be mounted on the M11 series.  Has anyone owned this bag and if so, is it worth the premium cost?  I hear great things about Oberwerth but would love to hear some real world experience.  Thanks!

the Billingham Hadley Small or Pro would allow you to fit the dividers wide enough for your set up and still have spaces for other lenses.

Hadley small pro is my favorite bag. It has only one drawback - weight! It weighs more than 1 kg. Therefore, during long walks, I use a hook on the waist belt, to which I hook Hadley small pro to the strip, which is designed for fastening to luggage. Thus, this hook takes on part of the load (adjustable by the length of the bag strap), when wearing the bag across the chest.

I can't comment on Oberwerth bags but I have a half-case which is exemplary quality.

I should also add that when I emailed Oberwerth on a Sunday, I received a reply within an hour from one of their directors.

Personally, I felt the VFlex was built too wide just to accommodate the Visoflex2 on the M11 and never went with it.
I use the Edward(M Bag) and it accommodates the M11 with Visoflex2 attached snugly.
It in its self is a great bag, M11 & 3 lenses, iPad Pro and accessories, it's bigger than it looks.

The standard M11 Bag is smaller again but wouldn't accommodate the VF2 attached.

If you're into quality leather bags, Oberwerth are sublime but expensive. Keep an eye on their sale page under the photo section, they often post exhibition goods with reasonable discounts, though you may have to check frequently and over a long time for a specific design or finish.

The Billinghams have a quaint charm to them and are very utilitarian in their use. The OG Hadley Pro and new Mini Eventer in black are my go to bags when the weather is not great.

They are lovely bags but I have to say I’d consider them far too nice to seriously travel with. I can’t really imagine I’d be happy putting one down in a leaking river canoe in South East Asia or amongst the camel droppings in Pushkar etc.

I love the ones they did with LSI (eye wateringly expensive though) but so far have resisted because although I covet them I know I’d only ever use it for storage at home!

Hi Peter, your bag is up on the "sale" section of the Oberwerth site with a €130 saving. 😉

Is not the first thing that you have to ask yourself: Is the M11-P worth it? If your answer is "yes" then you will find out that there is no need for such a bag.

My experience is that a waist bag is much more usefull (its no weight). And your camera you have on your shoulder on a strap. In the bag you carry just 2 to 3 lenses plus a battery plus the visoflex2.

After I have had all the bags possible I ended up with this suggestion.

I personally would not go for Oberwerth for the following reasons (tried several ones): pricy, bulky, heavy, not very flexible in separating internals - leather feels gorgious though… I went for Peak Design bags and could not be happier: I purchased all three sizes in black and use them according to the equipment required for the day.

I have an Oberwerth Q bag for my Q3 43 which is a similar style to the Flex you inquired about.  I don't like that it does not have a quick grab-handle on top of the bag.  That is probably my biggest complaint.

I have attached an image of my Crumpler 5 Million Dollar Home to show how I address the Visoflex attached to my M11.   There are a number of similar style bags in market... but I use the vintage Leica couplers for up to 4 lenses, have the paddling make "tubes" for the lenses in each corner, and the result is a deep "T" in my bag to hold my M with Visoflex 2 mounted with something as long as an 90mm APO attached.

Thanks to suggestions in these forums a few weeks back about these couplers as they really work well with a padded bag.  I slip them in a silk fabric glasses case and then place in the padded "tubes".  In this case with a 5L bag there is still ample room for a blower and the Visoflex 2 case, as well as filters, etc...

I bought the Louis vflex and sent it back. My issue with Oberwerth. Is the cheap felling almost crinkly material behind the padding. Ansley there is not enough bottom support so when you set the bag down the camera hits first like it almost bulges out the bottom. Depending on the lens you wanton the camera thebillingham Leica m bag will work as will others. The only Oberwerth bags I like are the ones with the inset like the harry met sally bag but it’s not suitable for what you want.
another bag that would work but is larger is the Ona Sedona.
There is also a artist and artisan bag that would work also depending on the lens.

For longer lenses I typically put a 1.25 x magnifier on instead of the visoflex and it’s easier to carry.
