Is the small case on top for credit cards??

It appears to be the same size case as the viewfinder adapter ring set that adapts the M10 and M11 viewfinder to the older smaller diameter viewfinder accessories.  Also for the maxed credit cards.

Size wise it looks like a credit card case, but on Leica's website it says "matching SD card case", strange.

I find this set absolutely beautiful.

Had it been a M11M-D, it would have been even more appealing in my view :)

AFAIK, the kit will be available in Spring 2026 and as of yesterday none was already sold before the release date.

I also think it is gorgeous, asked my local dealer and was told the same, 2026.

Was thinking between a new car in 2025 or this set, but maybe I can do both.. 😅

That suggests no M12 before the end of 2026.  Did you get any indication of price?

or your phone? as this cannot be used without one

Eh? In what way? The M11-D - just like the Leica 1 - can be used perfectly well without having access to a 'phone.

It offers control over ISO; shutter-speed; aperture; focus. Anything else is merely 'superfluous baggage'.

:)

No indication on price so far, but I think it could reach a good part of the price of a car, given the M edition 70 was already 25000 Eur with one lens… (ok it is an APO)

"100 years of Leica and Brotherly Love and what do they produce? A cuckoo clock!" (Apologies to "Harry Lime" in The Third Man.)

Still, I guess it will help pay the bills. 👍

Certainly will! The party for the in-crowd must have cost a bob or two. Then there are all the sellers and buyers 20%'s from the Auction.

Thanks for making the effort, Philip.  I couldn’t be bothered as I decided it was just trolling.

Damn I would really love it if all of the Leica online communities focused way more on the creative and compelling results of the tools being instead of the never ending onslaught of limited edition luxury nonsense gadget porn that does nothing different than the main stuff except cater to obscene wealth and mantles or bookshelves or whatever.

Think I’ll just go back and take a peruse through Helen Levitt and Andre Wagner’s work that matters - made using non exclusive regular fare Leicas.

I look at the positive side of this. The luxury is camera consumers help prop up the company profits and drive down used prices due to never ending GAS. If photographic results are what matters then all you need is a used Leica and a lens in your preferred focal length.

Seeing that the camera has no frameline selector and both lenses it comes with are 50mm, I'm guessing there's only one set of framelines (for 50mm) in the viewfinder.

No, frame lines are automatically selected when you mount the lens.  The selector simply lets you preview what another lens would look like without actually mounting it.

Yes I know the framelines are automatically selected when a lens is mounted (I've been using Leica M cameras for nearly 40 years), but thanks for your reminder anyway.

Since this M11-D 100 YEARS OF LEICA pays homage to the 1925 Leica I that came with a permanently affixed 50mm lens, I think it'll be fitting to have the commemorative M11-D dedicated to 50mm photography - hence a single set of 50mm framelines, plus preferably a viewfinder magnification of 0.91x like that on the M3. Yeah, that would be very nice.😉
