I am starting to make short videos, travel documents or concerts. I feel the need for an external microphone to connect to the camera.
Which external microphone for the Q3 43 have you tried and recommend?

I tried the two Rode VideoMic GO II and VideoMic NTG microphones listed by Leica with the firmware update 3.0.0.
With both of them the volume is very low, so much so that they are useless to use. Do you have any other experiences? What do you recommend?

How are you are using those mics? How far is the source of the sound from the camera/mic? What is the sound: normal spoken word? music? Do you adjust sound levels when you edit the video?

If you think about broadcast media, journalists use either hand-held mics or wireless/wired clip-ons/lavallier. For performance/concerts sound engineers source the sound from a mic on or near the performers/stage, not from a camera. On-camera mics are really only good for spoken word close to the camera, or for ambient sound.
