I have to decide, this is coming live in the middle of the night... at the same time the 24 Hours of LeMans... very hard decision  ;)

You can still watch the other 22 hours of Le Mans afterwards

From DPR:

"The optical design is remarkably similar to the Sigma Contemporary 28-70mm F2.8 DG DN lens. However, given that the MFT charts are substantially different, the two lenses seem to perform differently."

Leica is 10, 20 and 40mm, Sigma 10 and 30mm

Edit: saw other people mentioning the same

Isn’t this because Leica use 5, 10, 20 and 40 line per mm while Sigma and other brands usually go for the 10 and 30 lines per mm?

With this in mind, you can compare the 10mm and see they are roughly the same, given also that Leica are calculated vs the Sigma that are measured

DPR reportedly removed that statement. Thanks to everyone who pointed out their mistake.

I needed a zoom this past weekend; picked up one of the 2 or 3 of this new model that came into the local Leica store, and headed off to several weekend events. For one-third the price of the leading option, half the price of the second-best (24-70), it seemed like a good choice.  And with Leica's belt and suspenders construction, I think it will hold up.  I'm pleased with the results so far. Some are posted on Flickr.

The motion blur in the 1/160 images is such that it's difficult to tell where the lens was focusing. The 1/800 images are much better, and show a crisp image. It would be nice to see some f2.8 images.
