Popular Post benqui Posted May 4 Popular Post Share #1  Posted May 4 Advertisement (gone after registration) This was my first test of the Sigma BF with the 2/65 and the 2.8/45 lenses. Normally I always used a viewfinder but after some minutes it was very easy to take the photos without the viewfinder. The focus was very fast, the camera worked without and problems. I also took some videos during the shooting, which was also without any problems. The colors are very natural, the conversion into b/w worked also very good. The only thing which was really very bad was the battery. After 2 1/2 hours it was empty. But as soon as extra batteries are available, this problem should be solved. To sum up, the Sigma BF is for me a very good camea for portraits and (maybe this is the most important thing), it is so much fun to use it. I will show you some photos of this shooting….  Welcome, dear visitor! But to be honest you fell comfortable after a short time and i did not miss it. But I have to see how it works in bright light.

The lack of a viewfinder is the main thing that has kept me from purchasing a Ricoh GR IIIx. I'll be interested in your experience shooting the Sigma BF outside on a sunny day

But it was really very easy. Unfortunately it is raining now in my area, but as soon as I test it under bright light, you are the first who will get the news!
R4p70r Posted May 5 Share #13 Â Posted May 5 Fo me id oesn't matter what kind of camera you use @benqui. Your photos are recognizable. Either you use your Leica, Hasselblad or SIGMA camera there is no difference. 1

But we should not forget the fun factor of a camera which helps to make better photos

Stuart, now I had time to test the BF in bright light. With the sun in my back it was easy to use, with light from the side it was good, but a bit unusual if you come from a conventional viewfinder
Keith (M) Posted June 11 Share #16 Â Posted June 11 This week's Amateur Photographer magazine (UK) has full test of the BF. Â Praised for its stylish design, super-simple operation and internal storage, the negatives are mediocre battery life, fixed screen, no viewfinder, no image stabilisation. Â As regards the screen for outside use in bright daylight the tester reported that "too much of the time I found myself 'composing' my shots based on little more than guesswork and with little idea of precisely where the camera had focussed". Â An overall positive report, given four stars. Â Well worth reading if at all interested in this stylish and innovative camera.

Yes I agree with the negatives but in practice the most annoying part for me is the very short battery life. After two hours of shooting portraits the battery is almost empty.
