February 24 your comment about the Sigma BF:

"To me it is one of the most beautiful, innovative and (for me) useless cameras. But kudos for the design!"

What changed your mind?

Very easy to say Brent: I hold it in my hands. For me was a no-go that the camera had no viewfinder. But to be honest you fell comfortable after a short time and i did not miss it. But I have to see how it works in bright light.

The lack of a viewfinder is the main thing that has kept me from purchasing a Ricoh GR IIIx. I'll be interested in your experience shooting the Sigma BF outside on a sunny day

I also thought that a need a viewfinder because I like this kind of 3D feeling when you look through it. But it was really very easy. Unfortunately it is raining now in my area, but as soon as I test it under bright light, you are the first who will get the news!

Fo me id oesn't matter what kind of camera you use @benqui. Your photos are recognizable. Either you use your Leica, Hasselblad or SIGMA camera there is no difference.

Thank you very much, I am really glad to hear that. But we should not forget the fun factor of a camera which helps to make better photos

Stuart, now I had time to test the BF in bright light. With the sun in my back it was easy to use, with light from the side it was good, but a bit unusual if you come from a conventional viewfinder

This week's Amateur Photographer magazine (UK) has full test of the BF.  Praised for its stylish design, super-simple operation and internal storage, the negatives are mediocre battery life, fixed screen, no viewfinder, no image stabilisation.  As regards the screen for outside use in bright daylight the tester reported that "too much of the time I found myself 'composing' my shots based on little more than guesswork and with little idea of precisely where the camera had focussed".  An overall positive report, given four stars.  Well worth reading if at all interested in this stylish and innovative camera.

Thanks a lot for your tip. Yes I agree with the negatives but in practice the most annoying part for me is the very short battery life. After two hours of shooting portraits the battery is almost empty.
